Float X2 recall

Just some info on this: issues arose due to people stuffing more than the max number of volume spacers in the shock and running high pressures, in combination with some riders adding float fluid inside the can as well, which led to very high pressures during bottom out scenarios.

In short, Fox didn't design around user error on this and now have to update the Float X2.

so EWS bike checks are to blame.

Boost hub in 150mm dropouts?

Looking to build up a new wheelset and, in the interest of forward compatibility, am considering a boost rear hub. Frame is a Banshee Spitfire so can go 142x12 (currently) or 150x12 dropouts (can be procured). Seems to me this should squeeze in fine (delta 2mm) with some minor shimming of the rear brake mount?

NB: Boost is dumb, only considering this to accommodate future frames. The "standards war" can die in a fire as far as I'm concerned.

Mid-fat. 27.5+ on the shore?

For immediate release:

27.5Fat™ sets a new standard while offering marginal advantage for the aspiring beginner rider striving to advance to their skills to moderate intermediate when contact patch, tire deflection, and rolling resistance mean the difference between a KOM and ambulance ride for your next x-ray. Grab life by the horns, grab 27.5Fat™.

Dynastar Cham

i have some cham 97s.

started with them mounted with g3 onyx bindings and was not stoked. Too heavy a ski and too stiff to control well with a touring boot.

put some alpine bindings on and love them. They are my go to ski for when conditions get poor and/or icy.

Need advice on new wheelset.

hope hubs are amazing, as are ztr flow rims.

if you consider yourself to have a powerful pedal stroke, consider the stainless steel freehub body upgrade.

Packing for packless riding

I really don't see the point of hip bagging a bunch of water bottles up a mountain. Once you're at the top you have to fiddle fuck around getting the bottles out.

unzip, drink, and return bottle with one hand while still riding.
