EWS Coverage Improvements, Counterfeit Product Crack Down & More - April 28, 2021, 3:52 p.m.

That marketing by GU is woefully misrepresentative.

To turn a plastic wrapper into a park bench is actually transitioning the plastic into a lesser quality material. To market this as upcycling when it’s actually downcyling is green washing at it finest.

How about a real discussion about how disgusting and unnecessary these single use, plastic wrapped “performance” foods are and how the marketing of them is dramatically increasing the amount of waste entering our environment.

To me, the only thing we should consider is how much better the world would be if companies like GU didn’t exist to begin with.

Love the Bike You Already Have - April 27, 2021, 3:02 p.m.

Real into this attitude. It's amazing how much difference a proper service makes to the feel of a bike. Another option to mix things up (and save of expensive drivetrain parts) is to go single speed. Old familiar trails will be a total challenge again and your fitness and technique will improved so much.

Want to Ride Better? Do Your Homework. - April 21, 2021, 5:59 p.m.

Everything about this.

The SQLab 60X Saddle, Steep Seat Tube Angles, & The Banshee Titan - April 5, 2021, 2:35 p.m.

As someone who defo site in the “cyclist” camp I really appreciate this perspective. I would commute a couple hundred k’s a week and rides trail most weekends. I defo understand how hard it can be to adjust to specific geometry.

I just had a custom hardtail built with sagged angles of 73/67, super tall stack and slightly shortened reach and find it to be incredibly comfortable for long days without feeling like I’m giving up too much on the trail. I guess it’s just about trying things out and finding the compromise that’s gonna work best for you!

Let's Talk About Multi-Tools - Sept. 18, 2020, 4:15 p.m.

Totally agree with this. Have a Wayside and while a great multi-tool it's missing the removable T25.

Fit Before Fashion - ProTaper’s 76mm Riser Bar - Sept. 16, 2020, 5:45 p.m.

Totally agree, a bit narrow for out and out trail use. I've actually managed to press in some control tech bar extenders to get another pair of Low Rise Hunters out to 790 mm. Yet to fit them up though.

I've also tried those Stooge Moto bars and althought the width was great I really loticed the lack of upsweep with the outer part of my hand feeling undersupported. Would be great to see more options with more rise.

Fit Before Fashion - ProTaper’s 76mm Riser Bar - Sept. 16, 2020, 4:55 p.m.

When you mentioned more sweep I couldn't help but think of Hunter Smooth Move High Rise. 15 degree backsweep, 5 degree upsweep, 75 mm rise and 750 mm wide. And they come in a polished finish if you're looking for something classy. I have them on my Karate Monkey and couldn't think of a better shape for that big BMX feel.

Free Your Junk (and Ditch your Chamois) - Aug. 30, 2020, 8:05 p.m.

Totally agree with this approach. I would go one step further and recommend pure merino wool underwear if you can get ya hands on it. I find synthetics to be pretty bad from both a hygiene and environmental point of view. I haven't worn anything but these while riding for a few years now, including a couple of 7 day straight / 1000km rides, with not a saddle sore to be found.
