Macride is a BC family business out of Victoria if you like to buy locally developed products (and you’re from BC or Canada). 

For what it’s worth, macride also had this design first (stem to seatpost) where the original krs latched into the frame.

I think that comfort hitting jumps at high speed is the most important thing. Speed plus the ability to maintain it through braking bumps and around berms will make it easier to clear all the jumps. 

Doing laps would be the best way to build up the familiarity and comfort level to get there. Pump tracks could definitely help to get the pumping down so you can build the speed without having to pedal too much. Dirt jumps too - to get used to the speed you need to clear a jump.

That said, I don't think a trampoline would help build that comfort since you are not flying at like 30-40 kph (which is faster than it seems when rolling into an 8 foot high ramp).

It did work really well for about a year and half but it has a shelf life... mine wore out to the point that the channels started pointing downward, allowing the sweat to flow down, so I flipped it upside down, but the material is now so sticky and gross that it is so unpleasant to put on (after multiple attempts to clean it).

I still have my classic MEC Bernoulli Gore-Tex cycling jacket form maybe '97. An incredibly well designed technical piece of outerwear that was priced at least $100 below any comparable item. We used to be able to go to MEC and get quality and price - not one or the other.

I do like my DRT5 but it is a very heavy lid. I am also unable to prop it up higher on my forehead for climbs to get a bit more air on an otherwise covered area. Obviously it sits right where it should for maximum protection. The sweat band is a major asset though. Overall I am very happy with it.

Rolled out over crunchy frosty grass out of Parkgate and then lay down to bask in the sun about 30 metres away 2 hours later. Crocuses popping up too. So damn good.

Kid in the front and towing a blue Evil? It was a blue e-bike but more Dutch style with the cargo up front.

What do you do with it while you’re riding?

I lock the cargo bike at the bottom. Likely safer at any trailhead than downtown.

I rigged this up last spring so I wouldn't have to drive to ride (and after I saw a similar setup flying up Mtn Hwy). All the more apropos now. For the record, I am not interested in simplifying to the point of getting an emtb.

Did you look into fitting it entirely on the longtail, that is, not towing it but mounting it to the outriggers or something?

I did not - this seemed the easiest way with my limited handyman skills. It is a bit long to ride with - tight corners can be problematic. I feel like an extra 30 lbs on one side would be a bit difficult to balance too.

That sad moment when you let someone pass on the climb trail and then look down to see that they are NOT on an e-bike but are moving at twice your speed.

The last one I've heard is Fitz for sure, Garbo maybe.

Book a three hour time slot, in which you can ride 10 laps.  Pass holders can book 2 days a week.

If this is all true, hopefully it's a soft opening overflowing with caution and that in time life will get back to normal.

Also if true, the pass should be priced at $150.

This makes a lot of sense and would also deter people from coming from far and wide (at least those who only ride park and would not venture on to valley trails after their allotted laps)
