Giro Tack Rubber Shoes: Tracker, Deed and Latch - May 8, 2023, 1:08 p.m.

Was interested in the Latch after the reviews. I was able to try on in a store, and glad I did. Giro have always run so narrow and no way they could work for my foot shape :(

Would say I have only moderately wide feet, 5/10 and specialized fit me fine.

Chromag Rift Knee Guard - July 11, 2022, 8:02 a.m.

I sized down with these. The Chromag size chart put me in a firm size large, but when I received them I just didn’t trust them staying up for the rocky, blown-out hard pack areas I often ride. They were very comfortable, but went medium for a better sense of security and to compensate for the elastic wearing.

Deniz's Excellent Adventure to Sea Otter - April 13, 2022, 10:47 p.m.

MK III cane creek helm? An easter egg or actual gen 3 version? The helm is underrated, I rate it higher than any RS or Fox fork I've owned. Guessing they need to make a 38mm version to keep up with the Joneses.

As a former large Druid owner, I would say the large is a medium in reality.

Jewelry For The Muck - Jan. 25, 2022, 2:26 a.m.

I ordered a new BB a few hours ago to replace the Cane Creek Hellbender Neo with those fancy SKF bearings. CC discontinued selling bottom brackets with those bearings.

The bearings still spin, but it feels like you're trying to run in quicksand. No grinding or similar sounds you get from a conventional compromised bearing, just friction.

Can't remember where I saw it, but think those type of bearings are now being used for pivot bearings instead — which they're better suited for versus the constant rotation of a bottom bracket.

Best of 2021 - Cam McRae's List - Dec. 31, 2021, 5:53 p.m.

I experimented with a bunch of lubes in 2021 (2020? they all blend together now…), and also tried Smoove —and the similar Squirt before that— and can attest that it does leave a gooey residue behind no matter how careful I was in application. I think it does a good job, but visually it's off-putting.

I've converted my other bike to SCC Slick/Wolftooth Wt-1and will make that my unified lube of choice once the Smoove bottle is finished. Seems to last as long, fairly durable to muck and is definitely easier to apply.

Banshee Titan Review - Part Two - June 10, 2021, 2:31 p.m.

Couldn't agree more with the need for more companies to add an additional size between M & L.

I'm always at the top end of a medium or the lowest end of a large.

Ultimately, custom is probably the ultimate solution.

Worth Every Penny - Sept. 30, 2020, 9:45 p.m.

I have the previous Dp2 version and my Leatt 3DF 6.0 knee pads fit no problem. Love riding in pants.

Behind the Brand: NF - March 6, 2020, 12:49 p.m.

Was waiting for the #TreeToo movement to catch up to me. My days of unenlightened and insensitive tree harassment are over.

Behind the Brand: NF - March 5, 2020, 11:22 p.m.

I just bought a pair of the destroyer pants and love them. Fit, performance and comfort are great. Feel really well made.

Less than $30 more than the "big mtb brand" pants I was cross shopping them with, and those are probably made in some exploitive authoritarian country lacking in free speech or enforced environmental laws.

FWIW, I am a hybrid driving, tree-hugging super lefty anti-bro and don't feel out of place wearing them.
