Any of you guys seen this?
Price is higher than I'd want to pay but this might be a good option for someone like me who lives in a warmer climate, no AC, and no room for second fridge. I've done ok til now sticking the fermentor in a downstairs closet but I'd like to get into lagers and my current setup won't allow that. This would help keep things at a consistent temperature in general rather than whatever the closet temp happens to be, so I think it would help a lot.
Hopefully they can find another fix soon. Its gonna get expensive if I have to watch these at my local brewery….
Update 14/05/2014: This no longer works. Neulion have changed the way the encryption keys are accessed. I don't have time to try and fix it for the next couple of days. If anyone has a fix though, I'll update my post.
A couple of months ago, Neulion started encrypting their HLS feeds that we use. The place that they stored the key requires either a special cookie to be set, or for the User Agent to be set to a specific value. Every User Agent we tried ended up blocked, so the only way to get the key was with the cookie.
Fortunately there was a workaround where you could work out what the cookie should be by requesting it at another URL, and then using it for the key (that's what the FuckNeulion jar was doing - making sure it had the cookie before asking for the key).
Unfortunately, that no longer works, and they've now switched to the same system they've been using for the AHL for a while now.
This stream works great. I paid for NHL center ice package online during the season, and this is even better quality I think. Seems to be the same service I bought but for playoffs, which isn't even available to purchase. Strange…
In the US Hermosa Tours and Cog Wild offer tours in various places. Some of the high country may not be snow free yet in your time window but there is some awesome riding in the Southwest and Pacific NW. You could easily spend a month riding awesome trails in Oregon and Washington. June/July is prime riding time there, could be a little early for Colorado but this year you never know. Or just head to Whistler/Squamish for a month. You could get by without a vehicle in many places if you wanted (ie, Durango, Oakridge OR).
I did a few days riding with Gravity Bolivia a few years back. I wouldn't let the name turn you off, they offer some big descents but I'd call it more xc than anything (ok, "trail"). I also did a few days near Cuzco with KB Tours which now makes up the Peru side of that business. Between the two areas you could get some awesome riding in, and there is a lot of stuff to see that would easily fill up your month. Your time frame is a pretty good weather window too.
The VLC fix for playoffs.
Thanks for that. I don't have cable and there is no NHL package for playoffs since all games are supposedly broadcast down here by NBC. Will try it out this weekend.
