There is no dial on the TLD. It's just a set of removable pads in the rear to dial fit.

How tall are you Trevor? And did you wear the regular Large or the Large Tall? I'm interested in these partially as they offer Tall sizing. I'm tall but not not super tall (190cm) and most bike pants seem to be cut midway up my calf.

I like it, but for $2700 with Deore and a Revelation you're getting into "not so cheap" territory. It's basically the same price as the full suspension Marin Rift Zone's and Alpine Trails with similar spec and not far below what you can pick up a Ripmo AF for these days. I suspect that  I'm not sure  "young ripper without coin for a full suspension" makes much sense when decent full suspensions are pretty close to this range.

This resonates with me as I've been both getting older and moved to a place where the riding has higher exposure. I used to live in the Northeast of the US and while there were definitely dangers (trees for instance) and I got banged up a number of times both trail and park riding, it always seemed like there were pretty low risk options if I wanted that.  

Now I've moved to Nevada and live where I can pedal from my house to Bootleg Canyon in 5-10 minutes (where Outerbike used to hold its demo, though the most popular demo loops are the exception to my next comments). The riding is great, but even a lot of the "XC" trails have substantial exposure so while the riding isn't always more challenging that I was used to back East, the consequences are higher. If you get kicked a foot or so off the trail, you could be going for a long, rocky tumble rather than ending up in a bush). I pad up much more than I did previously and for more rides, but I still don't totally love the exposure, mostly because it means I can't push as much as I could previously as I need to be farther from my limits to maintain my acceptable risk level.

I'm just slightly confused why no company has created an extra long rail saddle. It seems like just a few extra cms of saddle adjustability could prevent a lot of STA complaints on both ends of the spectrum.

I was so excited for them to be released in the US, then pretty disappointed when they moved from "really good value" to "pretty darn expensive." The US prices were often ~$800 more than the Euro price converted into dollars. And that's not even accounting for that VAT is included in the Euro prices and you have to add it on top in the US. 

It's still not terrible value, but something like the Tyee AL Start no longer looked like such a great deal in comparison to competitors like the Ibis Ripmo AF.

How do you think this bike would do in the bike park? Park riding isn't my principle use of my longer travel bike, but I do take it there. Would this be as fun as other bikes in the ~150mm category? 

Because I'm really happy to buy aesthetically ugly things at deep discounts after no one buys them at full price.
