Bullit's Are they good? ~now with brake jack~

I have to disagree.

You'll feel brake jack by braking in rough tech section, you'll feel it braking before a rough bumpy corner, you'll feel it braking down rough rocky section. Once you start braking the suspension stiffens up, which make the ride rough and makes you want to slow down even more, causing the suspension to stiffen more. Some people, generally the better riders, don't feel it at all or it doesn't really bother them. That's mostly because they are off the brakes alot more and let the suspension do its job. Slower more tentative riders with notice it more, but probably don't realize it until they hop on a non single pivot bike and feel the difference. That's how it worked for me. I never new what brake jack was until I bought an FSR bike and noticed the lack of it.

This man is correct. As much as I love my Bullit, I started to actually notice the brake jack more as I became a better rider (without riding a different bike). The good thing is that once I was sensitive enough to what my bike was doing to notice it I was also a good enough rider to know how (and have the confidence) to minimize it.

But all-around, it's a great, versatile bike. I've had mine for a couple of years now [HTML_REMOVED] I've been incredibly happy with it.

cool picture of vancouver

cool shot, but it must be pretty old. There's a lot of stuff up [HTML_REMOVED] down false creek that has buildings on it now that is just empty space in the picture. My old building isn't there yet, for example, [HTML_REMOVED] it's at least 7 or 8 years old.

spirituality/religion-what do you believe?

For the most part I don't belive in God, then I see something like this OH MY GOD!!! and tend to rethink my position

I'm an atheist. The idea of a boogeyman that created the universe seems incredibly silly to me. However, Gooch, you have a very good point. I mean, that's what I would do if I was all-powerful.
But how do you explain those ugly, chinless people?

Gas brand loyalty?

chevron. Esso is Exxon [HTML_REMOVED] fucked up a lot of stuff in Alaska that one time. Shell has had some human rights issues.

Funny how gas is the only thing I ever buy with a conscience. "yeah, bring me 3 more of the made-by-8-yr-olds-in-a-sweatshop-T-shirts."

how many times do the americans have to lose ?

Of course all of this would have been dealt with long time ago if Ottawa was located in BC

…or if those in Ottawa had heard of BC.

This should be an easy one. What's the song that's playing during the Sterling Lorence slideshow on the BITS DVD? Been wondering for a while.

On a side note, the BB sent me a happy birthday email. Ain't NSMB thoughtful? And if you know what happened before I woke up in the backseat of my car this morning, please tell me. Drinking all day is fun…

Fat Bastards

I figure I lost about 10 lbs over May/June, not that I was all that fat to start with, but it was cool to see the abs again. I missed those little guys…

Busted wrist has meant little or no exercise for the past month, so some of it has definitely come back. Can't wait until I can do stuff. I've been trying to watch what I eat to compensate for the lack of exercise and it sucks. I prefer the "I exercise so that I can eat/drink as much as I want" mentality.

Crosby to Pittsburg...

Pittsburg is a dead hockey city.

yeah, but they probly need him more than most other teams. I don't mind that he went there.

I agree with Dante on that instigator rule. It's stupid. And I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority on this one, but I also don't like eliminating the 2-line pass. If they call obstruction, etc. (which it looks like they're going to do) they don't need a drastic rule change like that.

Oh yeah, and shootouts are :r: , but at least they still play an overtime period…

tunnel vision--zero avenue raid

wow. i heard rumors about that but didnt think anyone would be stupid enough to actually build it. i love how they waited 8 months til the tunnel was done then busted them. classic.

I'm pretty sure they knew about it the whole time [HTML_REMOVED] just waited until they tried to use it to bust them. They can nail the guys with a lot more that way. Plus they have pretty solid evidence of what their intentions were for building it.

The fact that it was busted as soon as it opened really sucks for the guys that built it, but makes it really funny for me.

Broken bones

busted my radius just above the wrist a few days before xmas (playing hockey). Once the bone was set [HTML_REMOVED] in a cast, it didn't bother me at all. Wore the cast for 4 weeks [HTML_REMOVED] aside from being a little weak at first, it was fine right away.

Busted the same radius right at the wrist 4 weeks ago (riding). Shattered the end of the bone, had surgery to put in a little metal thingie [HTML_REMOVED] 6 pins to hold it all together. Been out of the cast for about a week, but the hand is still pretty much useless. Can't really hold anything much heavier than a beer. Still really swollen.

If your break extended into the joint, I think it's pretty normal for it to take a bit longer. They told me I shouldn't ride for 4-6 months (as if). I think if you're patient [HTML_REMOVED] persistent with your rehab, things should be feeling better within a couple months of getting the cast off. Just remember, if you go out [HTML_REMOVED] do too much before it's ready, you're taking a serious risk of re-injury. An extra week or 2 of rehab [HTML_REMOVED] strengthening now could prevent missing a month or 2 later due to injury.

Good luck!
