Embracing The Singularity - Nov. 17, 2021, 12:08 p.m.

Sooner or later, someone will hack the AXS firmware to enable remote control of your riding buddy's dropper.

I may have a Problem: 4 Shoes Reviewed - Sept. 24, 2021, 8:25 a.m.

Mine came over under. I changed them to match your photo before the first ride.

I may have a Problem: 4 Shoes Reviewed - Sept. 23, 2021, 9:17 a.m.

I made the same under/over lacing discovery with the 2FO DH flat shoes and actually looked at that first photo to see how yours were laced before reading the article. At the time, I assumed mine were laced wrong by one of the shop kids but maybe they're shipping them like that?

WTB CZR Carbon Wheels Ridden (a little) - Aug. 17, 2021, 10:09 a.m.

$200 premium over a WAO Union or Faction wheelset?

Two Tools and a Floor Pump from Pro* - June 29, 2021, 9:18 a.m.

I have Beck stuck in my head after reading the story title.  "Two turntables and a microphone..."

Two Ways To Lube A Chain - June 14, 2021, 11:25 a.m.

I'm a one drop per link person. Currently using SCC Tech. Very clean for a wet lube and lasts a long time between applications.  https://www.scctech.bike/

Crankbrothers Stamp Shoes - May 17, 2021, 1:10 p.m.

I have three rides on a new pair of Specialized 2FO DHs. I was interested in the Stamp boa but since since my size was in stock in the new Specialized shoes at a shop down the street from my house... They’re grippier than the Freerider Pros they replaced and much stiffer. The laces were initially hard to tighten but getting a good fit became easier when I re-laced them to enter the eyelets from below rather than above. On bike feel is good despite the thicker and stiffer sole and grip with TMAC pedals is basically clipless with vertical exit.

Do The Twist (and stay safe on the trail) - March 30, 2021, 11:26 a.m.

Some rain but nothing too heavy. Mostly just morning mist in the Redwoods.

It's usually located with or near the spray paint in hardware stores.  I don't know if the Krylon brand is big in Canada but it's almost generic for spray paint in the US, like Kleenex for facial tissue.

Do The Twist (and stay safe on the trail) - March 30, 2021, 8:59 a.m.

Sensus Swayze and Krylon Spray Adhesive. No wires needed.

2021 Canyon Spectral 29 LTD - March 1, 2021, 12:31 p.m.

Nice! A 2020 Enduro was my N=1 bike until I made the mistake of taking a 2021 Epic Evo for a test ride. Now it's sharing stable space with its much lighter sibling. I have similar builds on the two bikes other than frame/shock/fork but those differences are enough to add up to 8 lbs.

Max Flat Pedal Grip vs Some Slip – What Are Riders After? - Feb. 17, 2021, 8:43 a.m.

5.10 Freerider Pros and Deity TMACs here but it's not like I've tried a ton of options. I had a pair of the v1 Specialized 2FOs that gave me a hot spot on my right foot and used the Impact Pro in the past. I'm comfortable/happy with my current setup other than disliking laces. Must be all of the years I spent wearing Sidi Dominators.

Deore M6100: (Almost) The Only Drivetrain That Matters - Feb. 16, 2021, 9:45 a.m.

Ha! I guess I'm running a sort of inverse min-max drivetrain. Almost full M9100/9120 with an M6100 cassette. The M9100 cassette started making popping sounds after ~9 months and I replaced it with the M6100 on LBS recommendation.

David Fournier's Well Ridden Yeti SB150 - Feb. 5, 2021, 9:08 a.m.

Nice bike. I enjoyed reading the reasoning behind the component choices.

165mm RF Next R crank arms? I thought they only came in 170 and 175?

Rev Grips Race Series Shock Absorbing Grip System - Jan. 19, 2021, 9:58 a.m.

I tried the Sensus Swayze push ons after reading your article last June and now i'm hooked on the added length compared to most other grips. I was tempted to cut off the flange plus ~1cm during installation but i'm glad I didn't. I feel like the extra room to move on the grip helps more with discomfort/numbness than any improvement in vibration damping compared to lock on grips.

Pearl Izumi Elevate Knee Pads - Aug. 10, 2020, 9:54 a.m.

My Fox Enduro Pro pads are slightly less ventilated/well made but very similar and Fox has since switched to what appears to be the same D30 pad vs. the proprietary but identically shaped pad in the older version. My thoughts about the level of protection vs. ventilation are the same. Before each ride, I look at the Fox pads and my 7idp Sam Hill pads and usually go with the far less protective Fox pads.

Back of knee cutouts work for some but not others. I couldn't get along with the 7idp Project Knee pads because the cutout wore my skin raw.
