7mesh Thunder Pants and Men's Skypilot Jacket - Jan. 22, 2021, 1:33 p.m.

Thanks for the review of the claps, I’ve been looking at them but was hesitating as 7mesh really seem to struggle to get things right at the first try.

Regarding the stretch, I think Gore-Tex released a stretchy version last year. Some of that would make sense in these pants I think.

I have a Guardian and absolutely love it. The only thing they should change is the silly elastic cuffs. Why not just have some low profile Velcro ones like the Revelation has?

1 Bum, 3 Bags - Nov. 10, 2020, 6:05 a.m.

Im really pleased with my Evoc camera hip pack. Looks similar to this, but pretty great to be able to bring a proper camera without having to use a backpack. Wouldn’t use it with a really heavy camera/lens setup though.

Behind the Brand: UNNO - April 1, 2020, 1:37 p.m.

Looking forward to the aerospace companies marketing the use of bicycle industry quality carbon.

And I love clear coat over carbon weave as long as it’s done “classy”.

Industry Nine Hydra Hubs - Ridden - Dec. 18, 2019, 2:15 p.m.

Looks like a good hub. I hope the new axle design is stronger than the old torch. I know of multiple axels, mine included, that has broken on the Torch hub without extreme use, which was annoying for such a high end hub.

But the hydra looks promising.

NF Berzerker V2 Riding Pants - Nov. 8, 2019, 1:46 a.m.

Im sure the pricing is outrageous, but I noticed Gore just released some new gore tex pro fabrics, where one of the 3 options was actually elastic (20% I think). Given their track record for waterproofness I’m optimistic.

NF Berzerker V2 Riding Pants - Nov. 7, 2019, 5:42 a.m.

It would be lovely if someone could make some high performance riding trousers that are actually waterproof. The only days I want to have trousers is when it’s so wet you’ve got salmon climbing the trails, but as far as I can see no one actually makes that (Where you at 7 mesh?).

Hayes Dominion A4 Brakes Ridden and Torndown - Nov. 5, 2019, 12:32 a.m.

I’m kinda surprised that you don’t appreciate the sideways adjustability of the callipers.  Seems like a pretty nice functionality to me that would save some time when setting up.

Is B.C. Getting Daylight Saving Time All Year? - Nov. 1, 2019, 7:37 a.m.

Haha, I doubt an additional hour of gloom in the afternoon is going to make the metal go away.

Is B.C. Getting Daylight Saving Time All Year? - Nov. 1, 2019, 6:18 a.m.

God I wish we could do the same in Norway! I hate wintertime with all my heart.

Personal Rides: AJ's New GeoMetron G1 - Oct. 12, 2019, 8:57 p.m.

I fully agree. I really think this is an area where the “premium brands” should step up and deliver.

Although, will you ever get a bike to “feel the same” across the sizes? Even though it is proportionally the same, it IS going to be a longer bike, which has different properties from a shorter bike no matter how you twist it. I have no idea if a shorter rider perceives the small sized bike similar to a taller riders perception of a long bike (if the frame ratios are similar).

Maxxis Assegai DD & EXO+ Tire Review - Sept. 17, 2019, 1:23 p.m.

I have a 29” DHF EXO MG on my bike. It exists. Not exo+ though as far as I know.

Where The Rain Gets In - A Fall Service Story - Sept. 16, 2019, 10:28 p.m.

My carbon Ripmo has a little hole as well under the BB.

I think preventing water ingress is a big pro for having tubes in tubes internal cable routing. Won’t stop it all of course, but certainly better than having port based internal cable routing.

The Ibis Ripmo AF Has Landed - Sept. 10, 2019, 2:03 p.m.

Hm, the SLX comes across as a pretty decent deal. I think like it, the name is epic.

First Rides: 2020 Specialized Enduro - Aug. 13, 2019, 10:04 a.m.

Is it just me, or are all the new releases pretty hideous? I guess the previous Enduro was not exactly a looker either, but the slayer used to be one of the hotter bikes out there.

Don’t get me wrong, I like utilitarian bikes, but I also like my carbon sculptures to have a certain lust-factor as well.

Introducing the 2020 Santa Cruz Hightower - July 2, 2019, 6:51 a.m.

According to the pinkbike review, the X2 and similarily girthy shocks won't fit.
