Cancer, Before I die

You can't inherit or transfer debt though?

Ross, it sounds like you still have a pretty positive attitude about all of this. Thanks for keeping it real.

There is a great book out there called How to Die Broke. The idea is to transfer any assets that you have before you pass and then to go nuts on any debt vehicle that isn't linked to any survivors (ie. cosigners, guarantors etc.) For e.g.. If you aren't married, with joint debt, VISA can't get anything from your estate if there are no assets in your estate.

Only caveat to that advice is that strength training and yoga can help counteract the imbalances caused by continually riding. My back can attest to it!!

I hope that there is some type of EI benefit that allows you to not work and simply enjoy everything that you can for as long as you can. Best thoughts to you and those close to you.

No Respect

Man, I love riding in areas where I will likely not see another person! North Shore drama is too much.

strength training discussion thread

Strength is the application of force against an external object.

To suggest chins, pushups, one-legged squats etc as the core component of a STRENGTH training program is an egregious error and based on a complete and total lack of understanding of what strength is and how one goes about acquiring it.

Not entirely true. If one doesn't have the current strength to do certain body weight exercises then progressing to push ups and pull ups would result in an increase in strength. Also, there are ways to increase the demands of body weight exercises without adding weight but by increasing the difficulty of the move. For eg, push ups not challenging you? Time for hand stand push ups. Pull ups to easy? Time for one armed pull ups.

Tri-cities 2015

BC Parks has requested that TORCA does not provide maps or signage for Burke Mountain at this point in time. They are working on the draft management plan for the park and are working with TORCA to bring mtb trails into the plan. Until we can legitimize trails or have permission otherwise from BC Parks, they will remain off Trail Forks etc.

Also, Steve Chapman was told by BC Parks to not include bike trails on his map until the management plan was done. He disregarded their request and has done nothing to support TORCA's efforts. Buying a map from him is not helping the local builders or association.

If you show up on a weekend, I'm sure someone would be more than happy to show you around. The trail network is pretty easy to navigate.
