NEEDING SOME ENCOURAGEMENT!!!!!

Part of what makes riding so great is the stress relief you get from riding. You have no choice but to concentrate on what's ahead of you on the trail so any stressful thoughts are tossed to the side while you ride. A little adrenaline helps things too!!!

steepest slope

Also for some steeps… Gravitron in Pemberton and this trail on Mt. Prevost (Duncan) that the Backcountry taxi guy has built - steep and sandy - good luck with the turns… Daisy Dukes on Mt. Prevost also has the steepest log ride we've ever seen… its called the cheese grater. Its so steep that even riding down the slope beside it is a challenge to keep your bike under control…

Norco's Warranty?

I have a cracked frame too - 02 fluid. I haven't got a replacement in hand yet but supposedly its no big deal that its over 1 year old. Just seems there might be a wait as Norco had some problems with their 04 Six frames (my supposed replacement) so stock is an issue. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and me…

Ride, Push, Shuttle????

all three have merit. i ride when i can, push when i dont feel like riding anymore, and shuttle the odd occasion. i see no reason in getting a light xc bike just to ride up;

I agree. I must say, though, it sure feels good to have been able to ride all the way to 7th for the first time in a long time (and for the first time since I removed my granny). I still wasn't any faster than pushing, though:???: But then Whistler is a whole other story…. can't wait.

and switch - i totally agree with the "at your own pace" idea. i've been struggling trying to keep up with the group that i ride with, and it ends up being more frustrating than fun. then i realized there's nothing wrong with them waiting a couple minutes :P **

Totally, Judy! Luckily, the people we ride with really don't mind waiting… its only in our heads that we could be holding people up. Too important to have fun riding!!

Lower Fromme

Our idea would be to spread the riders out along the length of BP. Create smaller access areas at St. Mary's, Bottom of Digger, Dempsey/Braemar intersection, off Dempsey, upper and lower water towers. Have a lower multi-use trail system connecting the lower parking areas. This way you will spread the users out. Having one parking area at the top of Fromme will create more congestion in the area with cars driving in and back out. The number of sites that would have to be created would be huge. Ever been to Lynn Canyon on a sunny day?

I agree with this idea in addition to a parking area at the top of Fromme. If the gravel road could be widened to accomodate parking on the side as well as some parking by the water towers, it could handle a good number of vehicles.
As for giving up some trails… perhaps only those trails on the east side of the access road leading down into Mountain View Park. I have never come across a hiker while on Boundary - why give up these trails (Crippler, etc) when they don't seem to be areas of contention??
Sure glad to see a good turnout at the district meeting… hope for us yet.

SAVE FROMME!!!!!

I won't be able to make the meeting Monday night but I hope the email I just sent to the Mayor will help. One close-minded councillor speaking on behalf of minority opinions should not alter the use of our District land. Good luck to all that can attend the meeting.

AM I TO OLD?

Too old?!!! Its all in the attitude. The supposedly "older" riders that I've ridden with have the same passion, excitement, motivation and wide-assed grin as any 8 year old! Pure, unadulterated joy. That doesn't ever have to change so don't heed the advice of any passion-repressed people in your life… if you have to explain it to them, they just won't understand.
