WTB CZR Carbon Wheels Ridden (a little) - Aug. 17, 2021, 12:59 p.m.

WAO also offers a 50% off crash replacement for second hand owners, which is huge if and when it comes time to sell your wheels. New carbon wheelsets keep coming out and WAO keep staying ahead of the pack from a service / got your back perspective.

5 Gifts For Your Bicycle Mechanic That Aren't Beer - July 18, 2021, 7:34 p.m.

Those safety wire pliers are amazing!  Thank you! I ordered some from Gnarly after reading this and just wired my Renthal grips.  Took 1/100 the time it used to take me to do it by hand.  Worth every penny.

Alex Sinanan's Geometron G-1 - July 16, 2021, 12:54 p.m.

Mind sharing your weight and Storia settings? I see the part about the 475 spring and the rebound tweak. Curious to know what you're running for HSC and LSC on the shock.

The G1s are soooo hot right now.

Mixed-Wheel Puzzling – It's About More Than Clearance - June 25, 2021, 9:58 a.m.

Excellent article! I just got my G1 last week and have 5 rides on it now in stock 29er configuration. Can’t wait to start messing with the mutators and a 27.5 rear wheel. I’m sure I’ll be referring back to this article over and over in the coming months.

OChain Active Spider Review - June 14, 2021, 10:01 p.m.

I wonder how it would feel with an “instant” engaging hub like Onyx. On the one hand that might negate some of the pedal response lag but on the other Onyx can feel a touch squishy on its own so maybe that would just amplify the sponge-factor.

Two Ways To Lube A Chain - June 14, 2021, 2:17 p.m.

I'm probably guilty of not applying the Dumonde Tech stuff as sparingly as I should have (although I definitely didn't apply as much as the WPL wet in each application) so it wasn't meant to be a straight apples to apples comparison I guess. Maybe I'd have noticed a bigger difference if I'd gone hard-core one small drop per roller on the Dumonde Tech stuff. I didn't have any real problem with the Dumonde stuff either...but I did find it particularly easy to clean up my chain post-ride with the WPL wet.

I'm trying the T-9 spray on one MTB now and Squirt on another...it will be interesting to do a direct comparison in the same conditions.

Two Ways To Lube A Chain - June 14, 2021, 12:29 p.m.

The WPL dry lube is absolutely awful IME. It left and awful and difficult to remove gunky residue all over my jockey wheels and chainring. And it didn’t seem to do much “lubricating”. However, I found the wet stuff much better. I found I had to reapply the WPL wet much more frequently than the Dumonde Tech stuff but the WPL stuff stayed super duper clean for a wet lube and the chain cleaned up really nicely after nasty winter rides. The WPL wet bottle didn’t last me very long though.

Race Face Next R Carbon Cranks Reviewed - June 7, 2021, 12:37 p.m.

Just found the exact same “cosmetic” cracks on both of my crank arms. Warranty claim submitted today. I’ve had them on my “sea to sky” XC / trail bike since end of August 2020. Not terribly impressive.

The NSMB Podcast: Chris Porter (Pt.1) - May 31, 2021, 5:29 p.m.

Funny timing as last night I just listened to the Bikeradar podcast he did and listened to a chunk of this today. Really interesting ideas.

The NSMB Podcast: Chris Porter (Pt.1) - May 31, 2021, 3:40 p.m.

The comments about how the suspension works on heavier frames (like eMTBs) are really interesting and consistent with what I recently experienced when I demoed an eeb for the first time. I rode a Specialized Levo SL with "mid-range" suspension components (Fox Rhythm 34 fork and dps shock) that I didn't really take the time to set up before riding. I normally ride a 2021 Factory 36 grip2 and factory dpx 2 (well loved and recently serviced) on my own bike. I couldn't believe how good the suspension on the Levo SL felt to me, even though I could feel the fork flexing under me. The bike just had sooooo much grip everywhere, but especially in the corners, and felt so stable, even with drastically shorter reach than what I'm used to. I couldn't put my thumb on it but now I'm thinking it had a lot to do with the fact that the Levo SL has at least 5 pounds more sprung weight than my normal bike. It was eye opening.

Duelling Evils of Vince L. and Trevor M. - May 28, 2021, 10:58 a.m.

Comor in North Van had a billion of them last time I was in there (week or two ago). I saw a bunch at Dunbar recently too.

A Year of Shore on ENVE M630 Trail Wheels - May 26, 2021, 2:50 p.m.

The DHR2 logo and other writing opposite the valve being off from the ENVE logo on the rim in the first pic kills me.

Four Clamps Good, Two Clamps Better - May 5, 2021, 9:16 a.m.

This is a major fail of the Magura shiftmix clamp for Sram. Running levers flattish put the shifter in a bad spot.  Thanks for the advice about the Formula clamp.  That one is adjustable and works so much better.  I wonder why Magura doesn’t get this.
