2021 Rocky Mountain Instinct C90 - Long Term Review - July 22, 2021, 12:13 a.m.

AJ - have you riden a Continental with there 4/240 Ply/TPI - 3/180?

I'm pretty happy with the Kaiser in bernstein. Have them on my second wheelset - other is Assegai + DHR in DD.

Kaiser rolls faster, breaking is great, offcamber a little bit less, but the wet performance not far of the maxxgrip... Looks like a good allrounder :)

Bike Weight vs Bike Geometry - July 15, 2021, 8:06 a.m.

So true!

Fitness - there are day's I have no problem with climping my maxxgrip front and rear and other day's where my lighter wheelset is just a pain in the a...

For a weekend warrior like me is the biggest limit always me - not the material :)

Bike Weight vs Bike Geometry - July 15, 2021, 8:01 a.m.

Specialized Trail Rain Jacket - June 17, 2021, 7:21 a.m.

Thanks for the review! Now that jacket is on my wishlist. I have a Specialized Trail-Series Wind jacket and love it! Very small and usefull.

Does anybody may have a recomentation for long (rain protection) pants in XXL - features: I want to use my Troy Lee Raid knee guard without beeing to tightly and zipper on the side so that I don't have to take off my pants...

I'm getting older and need something instead of shorts for winter riding :)

THANKS a lot!

OEM Alternative Brake Pads : One month later - June 5, 2021, 9:10 a.m.

>Re the Dominions, I just wish they had avoided the devils hydraulic fluid.

May I ask you why?

This could be your alternative:

OEM Alternative Brake Pads : One month later - June 4, 2021, 5:56 a.m.

I used to run Trickstuff Power(on Saint and Code) pad's a lot, but if its wet and muddy a hand full rides and they are gone... Good performance but not so good for your pocket :)

Since I switch to Hayes Dominion's I could be happier. The T100 and Hayes-Disk's have so much power and modulation and you can run them "forever" compared to Trickstuff :) I don't know what Hayes is doing but my wear of pad's and disk is so much less.

SR Suntour's Zeron Fork - Bargain Coil Goodness - May 6, 2021, 7:33 a.m.

Sounds like a great fork which would fit into my hardtail. But why no compression adjustment?

Do you know the lbs/in for the firm spring? Thanks!

(LSC +- is very important on my Öhlins coil... so I'm not sure about the Suntour...)

POC Crave Clarity Riding Glasses - Feb. 1, 2021, 1:36 a.m.

I'm using the UVEX 204 in clear and orange. As soon as there to many scratch I buy an other one for 15€. Works for me perfect. I'm sorry, worn't buy the POC for 200€...

Michelin Wild Enduro Tire Review - Nov. 18, 2020, 4:13 a.m.

I had the Magi-X and Gum-X last year from Dez to Jan and I didn't liked them. At low temp, NO grip eg. on roots, crashed on parts on the trail where I never ever had any problems. The only good thing I can say - during perfect snow conditions they performed good, but thats it.

I bequeath the set to a friend and he loves them and have them on all of his bikes. Okay he is also much faster than me - may I'm just to slow for these tires :)

Sorry Michelin, we don't get friends...

Riding the 2021 Knolly Warden LT V2 - Nov. 13, 2020, 2:05 a.m.

Compliments to the team I like your tests and your honest opinion's. NSMB is my first choice for reviews that I trust. :)

Is Cushcore Preferable to a Heavier Tire Casing? - Oct. 29, 2020, 6:43 a.m.

Thanks AJ!

Something I'm amazed everytime I try a new tire - the difference in rolling resistance betwin try and wet. The fireroads in Austria do have gravel but very differnet in detail. Some have just very small pebble and hard surface some much bigger and los gravel - there is a difference in speed and afford. And things change again if they are try, a bit wet or heavy soaked.

With a semi slick or tire with lowprofile the distinction betwin try and wet isn't that huge. The pimple and kind of rubber is the topic - I think so :)

Is Cushcore Preferable to a Heavier Tire Casing? - Oct. 29, 2020, 12:20 a.m.

Thanks a lot for the detailed review! Very helpful!

I'm using Assegai DD Maxxgrip in front since its available. For the last few month I also have it on the rear. Dream for going down, specialy on wet conditions, damping is great too and for my 95kg enought support. I haven't testet a additional tire protection because DD is okay for me. EXO and EXO+ I allway's have problems with the sidewalls or thorns.

Uphill is a little bit of pain, I don't do more than 700hm with them. So during winter I'm going to build up an second wheelset with lighter tires for try conditions and longer "XC-rides" with my Megatower :)

Because I ride much more local trails than bike bikepark, the uphill performance is very importend for me. I know the Assegai DD Maxxgrip is one of the worst options :)

What do you think rolls more efficient in the back: (My thinking and feeling - from hard to easier)

Assegai DH 29" 2.5 Maxxgrip
Assegai DD 29" 2.5 Maxxgrip
DHR DH 29" 2.4 Maxxgrip
DHR EXO+ 29" 2.4 Maxxterra
Assegai EXO+ 29" 2.5 Maxxterra
...
...
Tomahawk DD 2.3 Maxxterra
SS EXO 2.3 Dual

I'm not sure if I should try out the new Assegai EXO+ 29" 2.5 Maxxgrip insted of the DD. Do I gain some rollingspeed - yes I think so, but are the about 150g weight safing worth because of less damping and may again problems with the sidewalls?  EXO - I have the experience the sidewalls are getting faster weak than the profile erased away. So with EXO I have to change sooner for a new one... Not so with DD...

I have just ordered the new DHR DD 29" Maxxterra - looking forward so try it :)

2020 Öhlins TTX Air & RXF36 m.2 Air Review - Sept. 24, 2020, 8:44 a.m.

Super cool & thanks a lot! Best support AJ 😉

(I wrote Öhlins five messages with questions since I got the M.2 and got just ONE answer back...)

One more question - 100 hour chassis and coil spring service on an Öhlins RXF36 m.2 Coil

I can't find those things in a local bike or motobike shop. Are there some alternatives?

100 hour chassis and coil spring service on an Öhlins RXF36 m.2 Coil
01336-01 - Renep CGLP 68 Fork lube 1L
01338-22 - Renolit SI 410 M Silicone grease 225g
01337-06 - Renep CGLP 220 Air spring lube 0.6L Slickoleum or equivalent

Greetings,
Mike

2020 Öhlins TTX Air & RXF36 m.2 Air Review - Sept. 23, 2020, 4:16 a.m.

Thanks a lot for the great review!

>Öhlins has updated the stock damper tunes and now the coil fork comes with a C50 tune

Oh interesting, do you think it would be a benifit for me(about 210lbs coil-user)?

I have seen your rebound setting is faster than mine - currently 8clicks from close. So may I will try 10clicks.

For me as weekend warrior is suspension setup allways a challenge. I understand what the settings are doing and can feel the difference. But I'm not sure which setting is "better" :) Do you know what I mean?

Greetings,

Mike
