Eating My Words - Oct. 9, 2014, 2:57 p.m.

@jerrywillows. Give fatbikes a chance to bring a smile to your face. It's not all about "performance", Its about having a bit of fun on the trails. I'm not saying you'll have more fun out there on a FB but there are a growing number of us who do and it's no coincidence.

In my case having a fatbike makes the 6 months of snow a bit more bearable. For many of us the fat bike completes our snow bike quivers. They're certainly not ideal for all conditions but the fun factor is usually high…

Eating My Words - Oct. 8, 2014, 11:24 p.m.

I've been running my trek Farley 6 tubeless with great success using gorilla tape and tubeless valves. I've never encountered an easier or more confidence inspiring "ghetto" tubeless conversion. The wheels lost about 650 grams of weight in the process.

There's a lot of fatbike hate going around from people that haven't given them a proper chance. If people hadn't given clunking a try in the seventies where would modern mountain biking be? In three short years fatbiking has come so far, can't wait to see what the future holds…

2015 Scott Genius LT 700 Tuned: Now With Fox 36 - July 31, 2014, 1:34 a.m.

Soooo cool, I could have read that on their website. Ride impressions?

The Angry Mob - March 6, 2014, 9:20 a.m.

Another point here is the absence of user fees unless you are doing lift- accessed riding. Golfers and skiers know all about this. The full price for a Whistler lift ticket is now $110.

Your gear will wear faster when you use it more but otherwise riding four times a week costs no more than riding once - or not at all. Empty wallet? Perfect time to saddle up.

The. bonus in the bike world is that often the Ferraris are more reliable and sometimes even more durable than the Fords.

Malvm Saltvs - Feb. 18, 2014, 7:37 p.m.

That was great!

True Love? - Feb. 14, 2014, 9 a.m.

More than a few romances (and at least one marriage) have been born on the nsmb bulletin boards. And many more bromances. My desire to stay married keeps me from calling mountain biking my one true love - but my knobby relationship is older than my marriage license.

Thanks for the great article Jon. Hope it doesn't get you in hot water.

2014 Scott Genius 700 Tuned - Jan. 22, 2014, 11:39 p.m.

Not really unclebob. They appear similar but there is a big difference in the suspension configuration. The Rocky pivots on the chainstay (similar to Horst Link) but the Scott's pivot is on the seatstay, making it essentially a single pivot.

North Shore Billet Variable Tooth Ring - Jan. 21, 2014, 12:10 p.m.

My hunch would be that a clutch derailleur is essential to the equation. While the alternating width firms up the interface between chain and ring it does nothing to prevent your chain from bouncing on rough terrain, which is where a clutch comes in.

North Shore Rescue Leader Tim Jones Passes Away - Jan. 20, 2014, 4:29 p.m.

Tim has been acknowledged as one of the most experienced and competent search and rescue volunteers in the country. When talking to the media he gave off an air of steely confidence that made you think nothing could upset him or distract him from his duties.

Adventuring on the North Shore isn't as safe as it was yesterday. Very sad.

2014 Scott Genius 700 Tuned - Jan. 20, 2014, 8:29 a.m.

Price added. Typo fixed. Thanks lads.

An update on the tires - scary on Squamish rock. Looking forward to some burlier rubber.

NSMB Staff Picks: Cam McRae - Jan. 6, 2014, 6:09 p.m.

Just got a flat on a test bike. A pinch of course. I have no recollection of how, what or when but it was a good one. Since the bike (Scott Genius 700) is tubeless ready I just poured in some sealant and bam - tubes begone!

NSMB Staff Picks: Cam McRae - Dec. 27, 2013, 11:59 a.m.

Thanks Teresa!

Craw - give the Maxxis Minion DHR II a try. I'm rolling the 2.3s (3C EXO) front and rear and they have been amazing.

2014 Crank Brothers Cobalt, Iodine, and Opium Wheels - Dec. 21, 2013, 12:55 p.m.

Not quite a 'review' but entertaining as always. Was Charlie actually at the launch? Was Richie mean to him? lol

Weekend Warmup - Dec. 20, 2013, 7:52 a.m.

My kind of moto. My kind of surfing as well.
