Buy The Bike You Already Own - A Spring Service Story - Feb. 12, 2020, 2:52 p.m.

Does the IL model allow the same degree of customization? And how much percentagewise can the stroke and shock length be changed for a different frame?

I think searches on pinkbike classifieds for 'cane creek' must have spiked

2015 process with a 180 One Up here...can't get the post as far down as I'd like due to where the standard stealth exit hole is so cutting a new exit hole would definitely fix this if you want to be able to go past the 150mm it was specced with originally.

Great article, one other upside is that I now have so many solid bits hanging off an old frame, when I update the frame the solid bits come with me. Especially important is knowing about the boost cap upgrade (and re-dish) to move up to new standards.

And rebuild a CCDB air into a Coil? That's an amazing bit of black arts. I'm all ears about methods for extending the length of the CCDB coil as well as that's the only thing that wouldn't translate into a new frame for me.

How did you arrange a test on the Smash? Travel to CO or was there an 'ambassador' nearby ? Or just back and forth with them and then pulling the trigger? There are so many high quality bikes out there right now.

I know what you mean about the raw ALU but I'm also intrigued by their carbon layup too. But something about quality welds makes me happy.

I'm still laughing with the mental image of pumping a seat up and down to inflate a tire using internally routed airpipes

just found this - https://stompump.com/

I love (amongst the other things they do) Guerilla Gravity's 'integrated external cable routing' box. Seems like a great idea to build more storage into.

And does anyone do a set of goggles that double as a valve core tool ? Seems like a gap in the market.

Hayes Dominion A4 Brake Review - Jan. 29, 2020, 12:03 p.m.

Thanks for the power comparison. I'm running Code RSCs and the bleeding edge port gives me nothing but joy. Nothing piques my interest more than CNC'd billet I suppose.

Not a fanboy (well, the engineering is very nice though) but was wondering why Hope weren't on the list of 4-pot calipers. Are they harder to come by compared to the others on the list?

Yes! It's always dissonant when the manufacturer care says dry on low, but nikwax say tumble dry high.

AXS Strikes Back! (Does The Future Have Fewer Gears pt II) - Jan. 25, 2020, 8:46 a.m.

Weirdly enough, that’s exactly the setup I’ve been pushed into now that the sunrace 11-50 cassettes are rarer than hen’s teeth

The closest available solution for me looks like the Box 9spd and it's at a price that looks pretty reasonable for an experiment, but I too dream of five gears.

The Best Of Lubes vs The Rest Of Lubes - Jan. 16, 2020, 7:04 a.m.

I picked up a tube of dumonde at Lynn Valley Bikes. They’ve also got a good selection of other greases too.

Race Face Aeffect R Cinch Cranks & 170mm Dropper Post - Jan. 8, 2020, 9:23 a.m.

Is it me or is it far easier to find DM cinch chainrings compared to SRAM 6mm offset DM chainrings ?

So cinch compatible, well priced shiny cranks in 165mm that fit my pressfit GXP92 BB ? Sold.

(BTW both links point at the same dropper post url)

2019 Gift Guide: Week 5 - Dec. 12, 2019, 9:01 a.m.

What's the routine if one is using cushcore or some other insert ? I'm assuming a much smaller tube should be used anyway ?
