Hey Mike81, we moved out here almost 3 years ago from the UK and you won't be disappointed, though it takes a while to get used to the "new level" of riding, a UK black is a north shore low level blue. I'm riding every week and happy to show you around. PM me if you wish. good luck with the move and don't forget your helmet and your nerve.

Usual dhf up front but just changed to goodyear Newton on the rear. 2.6 (measures 2.5 on a i30 rim) with dh casing. Only had a few runs in the dry so far but so far I'm impressed. Had a dhr before and thought it was time to try something different, great grip on rock and woodwork. I'm hoping it won't wear out as quick as the maxxis. A bit heavy but I can live with that.
climbed up from Dempsey yesterday (Monday), up for the kids etc to BP, then across to the parking lot, all totally clear....... but from the 2nd yellow gate (parking lot) upwards on Mt highway still loads of snow and wasn't very ride-able. made it to upper Griffin which was snow for 100 yards then fairly clear.
hopefully the rain today and tomorrow will clear it a bit more.
I believe the crank bros egg beaters have different angles of release ( thus more heel movement) according to which way round you mount the cleat on the shoe. can't remember the figures but a quick google search will tell you. i used shimano for ages and had a similar problem, egg beaters sorted it for me.

Anyone bought a custom built wheel off CRC lately? Last time I bought one was 3-4 months ago, I accessed their custom wheel builder by typing "custom wheel" in the search bar. But now nothing comes up???
Alternately, anywhere else to get a cheap+solid rear wheel? At the beginning of the season I used the CRC custom builder to pick up a fully built Stan's Flow on Zee rear hub for $210 - hoping to get something similar. Pretty damn good deal, even if it did only last 2/3rds of a season.
i spoke to them about this same thing a few weeks ago, apparently they have just moved warehouse and will hopefully bring the wheel build service back around the end of the year !!! sooner i hope cos i want a new wheel as well !!!
