TRP DH-R Evo Brake Review - Nov. 11, 2020, 7:06 a.m.

As usual, NSMB review standards are amazing.

Curious to know how these compare to Hope Tech3 E4’s and what the long term value is for them. Can spare parts to fix issues be purchased?

Thanks,

Eric

Tire Gauges - Blackburn Honest Digital Vs. Accu-Gage - Sept. 4, 2020, 10:22 a.m.

Is there any way to fix an Accu Gauge? I stupidly forgot to take some air out of my rear tire after setting it up tubeless and checked the pressure with my gauge (Max. 30psi) and now I can’t get a reading?

Thanks and sorry for the old thread resurrection.

On Falling: MTB doc shines light on Canadian women - July 18, 2020, 11:09 a.m.

Not riding but while I was coaching rugby. The poor kid went into convulsions. Wasn’t pretty.

Those riders are some serious tough humans and rippers.

Going Pack Free With The Wolf Tooth EnCase Tool - July 1, 2020, 6:45 p.m.

No issues yet (fingers crossed) after 25 days of riding. I’m not easy on parts or light (215lbs).

I have a creak that I’m chasing down and I checked the clamp and all was nice and snug.

I’m using the Granite multi tool: https://www.granite-design.com/stashmultitool

No need to thread your fork, only remove your star nut. Quiet and seems well made.

How to Deep Clean Your Riding Gear - May 21, 2020, 4:20 a.m.

I’ve been lucky with my gear, tend to wash everything quickly post ride return to home.

I used to wash my pads every couple of weeks but then I read that D3O shouldn’t be washed more than a certain number of times of it stops working. Anyone else seen this? I can’t find where I read that but it could have been on Race Face’s site as those are the pads I use.

Dear Uncle Dave: Why aren't Brand New Frames Straight? - April 17, 2020, 4:34 p.m.

This reminds me of a friend who had his rear triangle not line up properly. He kept going through rear tires with one side being completely worn out compared to the other side.

When the issue was finally figured out, the shop he purchased it from didn’t do much but another shop went to bat for him. The manufacturer pretty much offered him crash replacement on a “lifetime warranty”. He fought a little but took it as the new frame was an upgrade to his older hole in the downtube “ruler of the world” bike.

5 Ways to Pamper your Bike during a Pandemic - March 26, 2020, 3:55 a.m.

Great article. As someone already posted, changing cables and housing.

Your next article should be about what should be done when you bring a new bike into the family!

I’m not getting anything done with four kids (10 and under) at home plus a puppy!

Formula Cura 4 Brake Review - Feb. 23, 2020, 5:29 a.m.

Hey, I loved those Onza pedals. Never ride when it was cold enough for them to freeze though.

Industry Nine Hydra Hubs - Ridden - Dec. 22, 2019, 2:10 p.m.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I’ll just go for a clutch style hub and try to be a silent assassin!!!

Industry Nine Hydra Hubs - Ridden - Dec. 19, 2019, 9:43 a.m.

Thanks for the reply. I have the “older” quiet pawls. They are almost silent when clean and fresh oil and make a small amount of noise when used for a while. I’m not sure I could go back to anything louder as silence is bliss.

Industry Nine Hydra Hubs - Ridden - Dec. 18, 2019, 8:03 p.m.

Once you installed the Dumond grease, how was the noise level to the quiet P321? I really like the P321 for how quiet they are and don’t want a loud hub.

Thanks

You may want to change the WR1 dropper post to 1Up.

Sea Otter's Best Bits (and a trip to Santa Cruz Bikes) - April 24, 2019, 11:09 a.m.

I’ve had great success with the Vittoria Airliner. I’ve yet to try CushCore.

In the past I’ve used Huck Norris and Pepi’s Tire noodle. I’m sure both the HUck Norris and Pepi’s saved my rims but neither last long. So far the Airliner has done well and provides the best feeling out of the three.

The best feeling I had was with a Maxxis DD tire and airliner with low 20’s PSI (I’m 210 without anything on) and ride Bromont (lots of rocks). I’m still working on a magic PSI number with a DH casing tire. I’m only using the airliner in the rear and still have a Pepi’s in the front but I am thinking of using the Airliner.

Any chance someone can compare the CC to the airliner?
