Zappa Trail alternatives

I'm looking for some loops in Whistler to ride with my gf. We usually ride Lost Lake and the level of difficulty is appropriate, but I'm looking for some other options that would be fun and challenging for a less aggressive intermediate. XCish loops are good, but options with longer descents would be good as well. We tried Danimal North last year and that was just a bit beyond her.

Would stuff around Function/Cheakamus be a good call? Anything on the West Side?

Did that one last year. It is nice but perhaps lacking in challenge for what we're after. How about Farside/Riverside/Trash/Train Wreck stuff?

Any of the blue trails on the map would be fun. Cheakamus zone is awesome for intermediates. Honestly though, beyond that we're lacking intermediate options.

Fairly straightforward intermediate route is:
1. Park at Function/Cheak forest
2. Climb Cheakamus FSR
3. Tunnel Vision (other than the start 100m or so, pretty nice flowy blue after that)
4. Exit at Kadenwoods Rd, climb road
5. Big Timber down to Creekside
6. Beer at Dusty's
7. Spin/wobble back highway or Sea2Sky trail to fetch vehicle; sober up before driving said vehicle.

bike park for more mileage to build tech skills.

For xc trails if you haven't done cut yer bars it's the same level as zappas, with short black trails branching off. Emerald forest is also pretty similar, as well as most of mels dilemma although both those are mazes haha. A loop from alpine of mels to get over it to bobs rebob is good although awkward rooty climbs here n there. You could do those then hit emerald forest back towards the village

Look at some of the 2-nie maps from that end of town for an idea of how to loop some trails together.

Basically build off of the Riverside - Farside loop and adjust it to how long you want to go.

Riverside - Basalt Valley Spur - Ridge Trail - Justa Another - 1/2 Trash - Farside - Highline - Tunnel Vision and then Valley Trail back to Cheakamus. Probably take 2-3 hours.

i think Trash is what I'm thinking about, on the other side of function across the highway but that was a really fun intermediate trail.

Green monster and rockwork orange;). Riverside trails provided my wife and I some good fun, and she's a beginner.

Closer to the village is River Runs Through It plus Emerald forest network. Similar skill level to Zappa trails and less climbing. Buggy though.

I ride the Function end a lot because I live in Spring Creek. Train Wreck is good one all the way through the extension and back on Sea To Sky and detour into Trash. Justa Nother Trail is in there too for an add on.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.
