That depends on traffic levels tho, no? I don't think you can build a challenging loamer that's going to stand up to moderate levels of traffic over the long haul.

Not if you expect it to stay loamy. However you can end up with a mineral trail which is fine. I'm not sure what your definition of challenging is but i definitely don't see a reason why not.

Yeah, just commenting on it staying loamy.

Perhaps builders of semi secret “loamers” should borrow a sack of Garmins and phones and Strava the shit out of a line about 100 metres off the real line. Keep the good line secret while the goofs with locked up wheels can ride the crappy line. Off a cliff into a mosquito infested swamp.

Sproatt and Rainbow alpine trails have been closed due to aggressive grizzly bear activity for the rest of the season...Closures include everything above the Flank on Rainbow (Skywalk network, Rainbow's End, Screaming Cat), Rainbow Lake trail, and Into the Mystic, With a Twist, On the Rocks, Happy Hour, Lord of the Squirrels.

Any chance the nice weather this week is drying out Dark Crystal a bit? I saw the September 20th reports on Trailforks saying it was muddy and getting trashed... would love to ride it this Fri/Sat but I don't want to contribute to said trashing.

Rode it and MC Thursday. Both running mint, still the odd soft patch on DC but MC was prime. I imagine today will be the last chance.

I ended up riding DC on Friday afternoon after talking to a few people who said it was good to go... damn that is a good trail, definitely lives up to the hype, just all kinds of good fun the whole way down. I was shattered by the time I dropped in as I had ridden Duncans, a west side loop and a few park laps before (new baby at home = maximize any opportunity to ride, plus my fitness is non-existent). Stoked to hit it with fresh legs and mind next summer.

ALL Blackcomb trails have been closed as of today until further notice by WB due to lift construction activities, FYI.

Anybody have any info on the pump track looking trail being built between Audain and the museum (where the old log/skinny skills park used to be)? Looks pretty cool, any chance that will be rideable this year?
