Hey guys im heading to whislter on July 26 for about 6 days of riding. I am bring my Specialized Endruo S-works, 6" travel, etc. I am a pretty aggressive trail rider, jumps, drops etc. Just wanting some tips advice for the trip. Just got a full face helmet. But what about protective gear, bigger brake rotors etc. Right now I have 6 in back and 8 in front. Anything advice will help.

Some armour might be a good idea if you plan to ride the bike park.

save some money and shred the valley trails with that bike….your brakes should work fine, definitly knee pads and elbows at least…

my advise would be to take it easy and go slow at first..

so many people hit whistler for holidays and go balls out, end up crashing and spending the rest of the holiday/summer injured…

get used to the trails, then let loose.. its SO easy to ride over ur head when u get to whistler..

I'd go so far as to suggest that Whistler begs you to ride over your head.

It seems so easy, so you push that much harder - and make it. Hooray!
Repeat.
Repeat again.
Before you know it you are in WAAAAYY too deep. Then when you crash, (and you will) you don't just crash, you explode.
I speak from experience.

Your bike with the 8"/6" rotors should be OK, but definitely go easy at first. Shin/knee and elbows I think are a must. I wear every bit of protective gear I can fit on at one time, personally. Don't forget goggles. It is the only place I ride with them, and it is the only place I feel I need to.

Right on thanks guys, I am pretty stoked about the trip. Hoping to run into some locals and get a good tour. Or just some one to have some beers with.

dual ply in the park is recommended, but maybe bring some spare single plys for the valley trails

If you can find the trail heads for Crank It Up, Dirt Merchant, and A-Line, you'll do just fine. All the rumors you hear about how popular those trails are are false. They're even MORE popular than that!!

I wish people would stop whining about braking bumps, they happen and thats why there is full suspension, man up ya posers…

sliding downhill is like sex or pizza …even the bad stuff is pretty good

6 days of riding the park on that bike will destroy your soul. actually one day probably will if you don't ride park often. definitely ride the valley trails and maybe only do a couple with that bike in the park
