Hey nickel, any idea if Crud2Mud can happen this year?

Ski from top of Peak to entrance of Top of the World. Then ride to the base. :)

Or Ski Peak down to Roundhouse and then bike to base.

Where is the snowline? Have not been up for over a month.

I tried to hot lap TotW once. It didn't end well.

The snow to the top of the Roundhouse is actually fine.. OKish to the bottom of Emerald, and then increasingly sketchy to Mid. I haven't been to Red chair in months but assume it's worse there.

I suspect Garbo has been just as rain fucked as Fitz. 100k/hr down the cat roads ain't my cup of tea these days.

Snow in the alpine was awesome last weekend, all the steeps had filled in with soft stuff and there was nobody there to rip it up. Fresh tracks to be had all over the place around Blackcomb Glacier well into the afternoon. Skied out to base of Red to download to Creekside at the end of the day and there was plenty of snow on the groomers right to midstation. Still adequate to the base of Garbo but definitely some bald patches showing down there. Typical spring slush on Dave Murray down to midstation - they were running some kind of race or training camp up there last Friday.

Despite what it looks like around Van, there's still plenty of snow to be had up high. :shhh:

8 Ball sez: outlook uncertain, shake again later.

It's been snowing to below top of fitz on the regular this weekend so… who knows. This year's weather =

Wait all winter for that fickle woman to rear her cheating head in the door again, and when you give up on winter and start enjoying all the activities of summer, winter rolls around. :stupid:

So nickel, the weather is perfect, the trail crew is working away, and powder looks to be gone for the year. Any chance of the lifts cracking a couple weeks early?

Sounds like the plans to open Creekside are going ahead as well. Probably not the Gondola, but there will likely be trails open so you can finish your day at Dusty's (which will be open all summer).

That is pretty cool now that it's starting to happen. Creekside should offer some new terrain and the opportunity to head down to a whole new Summer area. I'm at Alta Lake, so either way I'm a kilometer away from home. It would be cool to avoid the crowds at the village, especially on those really hot days.

Any references for this? Or is it just verbal for now?

I'm assuming long-term they are looking at allowing upload on Creekside gondola? Would be awesome to park there when driving up from Van and do apres at Dusty's… that's our usual winter program for Whistler days.
