^^^^True.
You know what I like about WBP? Getting up on the first lift, doing runs throughout the day, but stopping to take breaks in the village, hang out, people-watch, talk to people from all over the world, go for a swim in Lost Lake, sitting in the sun and going back to riding until they close the lift down. And then going home into the sunset. 30 WBP days last year. Worth every penny.

I think the first step to answering that question is renaming the thread to "Whistler Bike Park 2014". Then maybe we can draw in some of the crew..

Not sure if the camp statement is about me or Duncan's son.
If it was about me, just for the record I did one year of camp and it was with Summer Gravity Camp.
A week in Whistler is amazing and improves one's riding ability regardless of accommodation and coaches, so I was happy and did come out more confident and a better rider.
However, I found the camp prevented me from riding as much as I wanted to (couldn't ride without a coach and coaches didn't want to ride in the rain after the normal coaching time was up). Don't want tired kids out there killing themselves, but a hungover coach asking you if you'd be down for just a day at the airdome on your first lap is weak. Advertising "provided" hardtails for airdome that are just three unmaintained (shit bikes to begin with and then add flat tires, no chains, ect) for all of the campers to share is a joke.
Anyway, back to whistler stoke…

I think you could argue that you were scooping him. " on your right!":argue:

I've heard good things about some of the camps. I offered to send my kid to camp, but he says he'd rather spend time just riding. What he does seem to really like is doing races …
My son had a choice of Momentum Ski Camp or 5 days in the park with the DFX camps. He picked Bike without hesitation. He's only 8 (9 in May), so they won't let him in SGC and I've heard very mixed things about the quality of COC (both summer and winter)… especially in regard to their professionalism and that's more relevant when sending young kids.
DFX camps are good… the instructors may not be as "pro", but he's usually in a group of maybe 2 or 3 for the week, so gets lots of time with someone who still knows more than he does! And they are paid to ride regardless of weather. They are also less nervous than parents about letting kids just go for stuff.
That said, Kovarik Racing offers great deals for 3 or 5 sessions and seeing what he's done with other kids blows my mind, so that is very much on the table. Anyone put a kid with Kovarik for a few days?
