farside above the bridge is patchy snow, scap climb to high side is clear, as is high side and hihi, although hihi needs some attention, it's kinda mucky right now. Highline is 50/50 with patchy snow on the first half, second half is mostly clear…

Hi.
For some reason, I've got my sites set on riding Upper Babylon [HTML_REMOVED] Babylon by Bike this coming summer. But I saw one website mention that they were a bit neglected. And another website mentioned that some of the woodwork on Upper Babylon was sliding down a cliff. While a couple other places don't mention any issues with the trails at all.

I realize they will be covered in snow right now… but what were these trails like in the summer time? Still rideable?
Or not worth the day trip up from Vancouver to go see?

Thanks
-hps

very rideable, but it's one of the tougher trails in the valley that has a rock slab section that's super burly, or you can use the rope to shimmy down the crack to the side….a lot of the trail is just really nice technical singletrack, definitely on the harder end of the scale, and the final section in the clearcut has some wonky woodwork and isn't as good as the rest of the trail, imo.

Lost lake is good to go! Just watch out for the icy path of death between the lake and Whitegold. Ouch!

Kinda bummed with the all around smoothing of the zappas. Some of the best sections have been filled in and smoothed over…

They should be pretty tame IMO lots of people riding on dirt for the first time there. Not like there is a lack of difficult trails in Whistler.

yup, those are beginner/intermediate trails, and the fall was probably the first time they've had work done on them since they were built 6+ years ago…they were in need of some taming considering.

I see the value of having lost lake for beginners. It's always the first place I'll recommend or show to a new rider. Most of the smoothing of the trails were in the trickier ups and I also know lot's of beginner to intermediate riders who loved the challenge of trying to get these sections. Anyways, you're right lot's of other trails around heh.

Rode high society, three birds, middle danimal, danimal north and lower beaver pass today. All in great condition. Rode up from stone bridge. Still some snow on the climb (darwins, flank) especially after cheap thrills.

Ya, we should be talking about what's not clear instead of what is

Shit I've ridden it three times already.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

anyone in town wanting to help with a bit of trail work, planning a 10am meeting at the top of Farside (bottom highline) parking to do some improved benching and tread raising of the mucky bits on HiHi…
