Did cheap thrills for the first time, not as bad as I've heard but wouldn't want to do it in the wet

What? so fun in the wet!
All the rocks have tonnes of grip, the roots are nowhere near as slippery as bike park ones due to lack of traffic, and its just all round good fun.

all in all for me this is one of the most underrated trails off the flank. so many people blow by it for newer trails, but i love cheap thrills.

The wood ladder is a bit sketchy in the wet

Yeah had a blast, was one of those people passing it up in favour of the others up there, was always told sketchy skinnys don't do it! Now I don't know what I like up in that area, all so good. Was two bridges I wouldn't like in the rain though lol, probably fine once you know it better

Conditions in whistler stellar right now. Bugs are fierce above 1000m, trails are dry and tacky

Did you ride the upper portion of that trail? One above it I mean.

Heard there was snow earlier this week so didn't venture that high, should be clear soon though if not now, there was snow patches beside some parts of the trail. Probably would have been ok, but this was climb#2 on day 5 of riding, the climb here was enough!

see colours and puke has been my go to project since last fall, have added quite a few new berms on the previously flat/off-camber switchbacks, last night we beefed up the 3-set (which is so fun to ride now), and built a couple more…..lots more to do, but it's slowly getting there!

^That entire area parralelling the FSR is a blank canvas! Grunted up SC[HTML_REMOVED]P on the weekend and noticed your work and almost turned around and went back down.

Thanks for all that work. The kid was noting how fun it would be to do see colours the "wrong way"… now it might be… just losing all that climbing for a fast ripper descent???? Although I guess that's what Lower Babylon is too… without the berms and corners and all the fun stuff See Colours might have.

I only climbed up SCAP once, and that was right after they punched it through to babylon when they first built it….even in toonies when they've used it as a descent, while fun, it just has so much more potential, so trying to realize a bit of that now with the better corners, and the banks and side hits here and there…and lower babylon as a climb isn't that bad, especially compared to going up SCAP. The only issue of course being that stupid old skidder road to Cheak Lake road finish…..working on that though

Rode up SCAP on the weekend - nice work on those berms. Was thinking the whole way up that we were going the wrong way!

Has anyone climbed lower Babylon by Bike? I would think that would be a nicer loop maybe than SCAP and down BBB. A bit fast for my dog maybe.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

yeah, it took me about 20m when I did it in the fall to the scap junction….out of bayshores I did that with going up tunnel vision too and I think it was about 40-45 minutes to the junction. I may try and brush out the top of the microwave/lbbb connector and first part of lower babylon tonight, someone cut a bunch of the alder last year but just left the branches on the trail, and they like to get caught in the gears…
