Thanks to the cats who gave me beta

Rode Business Time to AM/PM. Then went back up and probably missed High Side unless it is just a double track. But I rode Farside and Riverside.

Would have done another lap of BT [HTML_REMOVED] AM/PM but I didn't have brakes and some of those rock sections needed me to sack up. Oh we'll gives me a reason to return with brakes and tires.

Creek bread was closed though:(

Why slag free swag?

ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.

Highlife is an old road punky. It's right at the switchback and it is signed I believe. I find it nicer to ride Farside, pass the suspension bridge and just as you hit the Cheakamus Lake road there's Highline. Longer but from my house in Springcreek I get warmed up at least.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

Yeah I post-gamed the guidebook and realized Highlife was the trail I rode.

That suspension bridge is quite the structure. I wanted to take the cablecar when I saw it, too bad it is locked up.

I will say the Microwave Tower Rd is slightly soul crushing taking from the parking lot or maybe it was riding crud earlier, but I was glad it was only a km up

There was another cable car up near the lake. I ran a trail race a long time ago that went up and over the cinder flats from the Black Tusk trail over to Cheakamus lake. I think I hiked up there last summer and discovered that now there is a bridge.

Kashmir is nearly good to go, the approach road has lots of snow for the last KM, and there's a snow patch on the trail next to the pond, but other than that it's good.

Nice work by the muni (or WORCA?) to buff out Whip Me Snip Me.
Far easier to get a group of 8 year olds to climb it when there isn't root steps and baby head rocks to navigate.
And, some nice touch-ups on Danimal North.

Kashmir - Kush - BC trail are good to go. Rode them on Monday. No snow now, but will be pretty slick with this weather!

Went up to check out Gargamel yesterday. The road up is completely clear, but the last climb through the trees is still under quite a bit of snow. Fortunately I wasn't the first person through there this season, so I had some tracks to follow to find where the trail went - there were definitely a few points where I had to stop and hunt around for tyre marks to work out where I was supposed to go!

I haven't ridden Gargamel in ages - last time we pedalled up from Cougar Mtn on AM bikes and I remember feeling a bit outgunned on some of the features. But now I'm riding better on a better bike. I also recall thinking that the road is very driveable. Any thoughts on dragging a big bike up there vs going AM? I'm not against climbing, just thinking it might be nice to have a bigger margin for error.

Rode up See Colours [HTML_REMOVED] Puke for the first time ever. Only a couple large blow downs. Needs a saw. Babylon had a couple small snow patches but also a bit of alder that needs a good machete massacre. I'll have to remember to take mine next time go that way.

Did you access SC[HTML_REMOVED]P from the microwave climb or along Eastside Main?

I rode it in the wet thursday night on the altitude with crappy tires, then on saturday during the beast on my reign with 2.3 clutch sx's…it's fine on the AM bikes with good tires, I actually had a blast on saturday during my 'race' run, although I didn't push super hard. It's about an hour up pedalling, a bit of a grunt, but not that bad. Just say no to shuttling.

best way is microwave I'd say, cut across to the bottom of upper babylon then drop into SCAP

I meant for climbing up SCAP.

With the chunk of singletrack climbing at the start I'd probably just go for the AM bike and enjoy the whole trail. You do need to be pretty confident in pointing and shooting the steeps on the little bike though, and big sticky tyres would be nice (but not essential - there were some serious pinner tyres racing it this weekend). The descent is definitely steep enough, and rough enough, to have fun on the big bike should you want to go for that though.

If you do want to go with the big bike shuttling is pretty easy with the recent road work - although it's steep enough at points that you'll probably want 4x4, you don't need crazy ground clearance anymore.

no it isn't…it's horribly overgrown with massive chundery waterbars and it will definitely ruin a truck.

Oh shit, you were talking about the FSR? I meant Emerald road up to the NoFlow entrance. FSR up to Gargamel definitely impassable in anything but a helicopter.
