Hi,
Coming for eight days from the far Middle East (without my camel).
What do you think ? which bike will suit better for the park?
What to bring ? Reign X1 or SC V10 ?
dependsi fyou're just gonna ride the park, or if you're gonna spend some time pedalling on the valley trails too….
V10 - big bikes FTW!

No worries we sold our igloos to the americans years ago, so we won't mention your camel ;)
Flips question applies. If you are just riding the mountain bring the v10, if you wanna hit up some valley trails and ride all of whistler bring the reign.
Bring both. How hard can it be? I bring both from Langley all the time.

My ridding buddies bring there DH machines. Does WBP have enough trails for a whole week of riding? We probably will spend one weekend riding in the shore, north to Vancouver.
Seriously, just bring the DH. Whistler has more than enough in the BP to keep you occupied. Besides, if you actually do get bored, you'll likely be going to Pemberton, Squamish, or the Shore- all places that have great trails for DH.
I wouldn't put anymore thought into this one.

I would actually bring the X1. It is definitely more than capable for riding the park and way more versatile than the V10 for pretty much all other trails in Whistler, Squamish and North Shore. What fork are you running on the Reign?
I suspect after a full week of riding you will get bored of the park and want to check out other stuff. Especially since it will likely be a while until the top 1/2 opens.
It's all about fun.
My Blog
Spaz just made a valid point. It really depends on whether the Garbo area will be opened by the time you come over or not. When will you be there?
I came over from Germany last summer for 3 (supposed to be 4…) weeks of riding and brought my DH rig, and it was the perfect choice. I mostly rode the Garbo trails and felt really comfortable. Depending on how skilled you are, you might be fine on a 6" dually up there but especially considering the fact that all your buddies will be riding their DH sleds, I'd bring the V10.
Oh and trust me, the bike park won't be boring after one week, you'll have a great time.
Yeah good point on Garbanzo. IMHO you don't need a big bike for the lower Park, or at least not a tank like one. But while you can get down the Garbo trails on a hardtail up to a point (there's that mad cool French Canadian girl with the Specialized jump bike that rides down Goats Gully and the like on it for a start…), a big beik would certainly make the trails more fun.
Some of the trails up there were raped during the DH races and in the wet, riding them even on my Bullit was an experience at times, to say the least.
So put the forks off the V10 onto the X1
treezz
wow you are a ass
I would say bring whichever one you like more, if your friends are bringing their full on dh rigs that tells me you will be in the park most of the time so either bike will be great. Like people said you might not need the v10 for the lower park but if garbonzo is open def. bring the v10.
Thanks guys !
We are coming on the end of July, just before the Crankworx.
I will bring the V10.
