thinking of hitting the park this weekend but im not sure how crazy it will be on the park. Saturday is the DH and sunday is joyride. do they close much terrain for these events and does the park tend to be very busy or is everyone just watching?

It's pretty much madness up there throughout Crankworx, but if you wanna ride and check out some of the action your best bet is to do laps on fitz and watch the slopestyle from the lineup/chairlift. There's tons of downtime between riders etc, that makes it a little tedious for viewing from the slopes IMO. Trails will be busy for reasons, but yeah, a lot of people will be watching the show keeping it a little calmer out there.

The absolute killer for the bike park is that priority line. During SGC or heavy lesson days it's going to suck. Saturday will likely suck because Open DH training is 10-11:30 I think, which means there will be a thousand people in there.

If you can get to Garbo, it's direct-to-lift from here on in. I think they're letting the plebes on 10:30 plus until Sunday.

The day of the Fox Air DH is always a good day to ride during C-Worx. Fair amount of people spectating/ not riding [HTML_REMOVED] not many trails closed.

as it turned out, the park was absolutely dead yesterday, even after joyride ended. unfortunately, lightening pretty much closed the mountain at about 4 pm.

Yup. Got a pedal/demo ride in the AM. Went for Brunch. Walked to the lift as Slope was ending. Did three Garbo to base runs with no lines before calling it quits.

Any Garbo Tech single track trail seemed to be dead Saturday as well.

Why slag free swag?

ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.

We were up Thurs-Sunday and rode the park every day. The only bad lines we encountered were Saturday morning around 11am. We just did one Roundhouse to village lap and then watched Canadian Open… other than that we got tons of laps! Was surprised how much we rode… about equal # of Garbo and Fitz laps.

They actually reopened Fitz Sunday around 6 but we were already packing up to head home. Did manage a few before that as we left Joyride once it was clear Rheeder had won.

Last couple of years I haven't ridden the park during Crankworx. Just walked around & took in the spectacle/ watched some races.

Never seen so many pros as I saw this year. The Vanzacs were in fine form. Looked like Semenuk wanted Emil to win it today. Unreal that the 38 year old Nyquist took 3rd.
