Sooo, do we still think they’ll be opening in May? 😉
WBP 21
Probably. Vaccinations have been made available to all adults over 18 living and or working in Whistler as of today.
lots of snow this year.... it will be a sloppy mess until June.
Still snowing to the valley....has anyone checked in on ReductiMat? Ensure he's not inflicting self harm.
Close the bars and restaurants (take out only) and it'll be fine.

The housing situation for the resort staff is the main problem. It has always been an issue up there. If you stuff 8-10 people in a place made for 4, it makes it REALLY hard to isolate when your roommate shows up positive.

Thanks bruv, doing great! I've got Whistler to myself right now and everyone is getting vaccinated.
Snow levels are so hard to gauge in this pandemic time warp. Worth keeping in mind that in years past, WSSF would just be starting. There'd be a gigantic jump in the valley and all sorts of winter shenanigans happening. With that in mind, the valley is looking good I think but snow ramps up aggressively a bit below top of fitz. This week's summer-like temps with no night time refreeze ought to put a dent in it though.
What is everyone riding in the park this year? New bike or gear?
I got an ex-rental V10 from coastal culture after closing day last year, so I'm set apart from cushcore in it.
Hahahah, new bike. That's funny!
...well, my buddy did get a new bike, but he scoured the Sea to Sky and the Lower Mainland back in February and likely got the last Nomad till 2022.
To Angu58: Out of interest, how are the 'relatively flat' case numbers looking right now? Not to be a dick, oh nevermind, to be a dick, looks like daily cases have more than doubled in the past month.

Im of the opinion that WBP will likely not be opening on May 21. Id be happy to be wrong.

@shoreboy - I will happily admit I was wrong and you were correct, especially with evidence. Cases are going up, and people are being stupid everywhere. But I will disagree with the bike park. With Whistler letting everyone 18+ get a vaccine, I think the situation will have improved by mid may in whistler specifically, but the rest of the province and country will still be fairly well screwed for a while.
I've been looking at this tracker for vaccines for a couple weeks, and watching the numbers go up daily makes me hopeful for the later summer. I have high hopes that Canada will be able to vaccinate everyone eligible with one dose by mid July based on vaccine availability, but it might change.
Anybody know anything further about this?
