So, I've held off more than a month now but I can't help myself.

nickel, are you in any position to give us deets on the coming year or will the powers that be delay any and all decisions as long as they can?  (If it were my company I'd do the latter).

If you are part of the executive circle now (you really should be for many reasons), tell them extended play makes Whistler Great.  We will get COVID under control, get Joey to pay VAIL to pay for part of extended play.  He'll make tons.

Alright, I'm done for now.

I miss extended play. I tend to get my best runs in between 5 and 8, and nothing beats some party laps as the sun sets.

Source on that rumour? I only see discussion about it not opening on early 2020 threads.

I’m hoping for riding until 8pm this year, if there is I’ll probably get a pass regardless of the price increase.

No official sources but heard it from several different people...and I definitely wouldn’t count on extended hours as they didnt do it for the ski season this year.

I heard a rumour that extended play was on.  Total hear-say though.

So have I, mainly from a person who works at Vail corporate.

I really, truly doubt that the park doesn't open this year. They did surprisingly well with the ski season, and have no reason not to open the park, that they didn't have last year, especially with more people getting vaccinated, and cases going down.

Yup I feel the same way, its a stupid rumour but part of what Im hearing says they've lost too much money last summer...seems silly to me, the best way to loose even more money is to stay closed right?

Cases are actually going up, not down.

Just heard from someone who used to work for Vail that summer 2021 will be as it was in 2019.

Not only have I crossed all of my body parts, but I've also stapled my family's fingers crossed as well.

Cases are going up slightly, but overall have mostly plateaued. What has gone down, is the death rate, and hospitalization, likely because of the vaccination effort in care homes, and hospitals. Vaccination rate is going up like crazy, as the production stabilizes, and other countries finish, BC and Canada get more.

I completely respect why they would close the bikepark, but if they don't close the ski hill now, they won't close it in the summer.

Excellent. Would it be more efficient to use carbon staples?

Now these are the types of questions NSMB should be getting to the bottom of!!

Rumors of not opening are wild fabrications, I have heard nothing but positive rumblings for the summer. Extended play is on the table but as with so many things, it hinges on non-local decisions.

Summer 21 is looking great.
