So Covidworx is done for this year

What does that mean for the bike park opening? I'm hopeful of a few spins on the chair but not counting those chickens.

Yeah, me too but I'm not holding my breath as the logistics are huge on just the usual operations, never mind the high capacity crowd events

There are so many variables to think about....I guess no gondola rides? 2 people per chairlift and lines would need to be spaced 2m per person and couldn't snake with out a 2m gap.

A lot of lines everywhere basically, guest services, rentals etc

Then patio dining might be open and lines to Zogs etc might work but trying to keep any crowds spaced out without any buildups could be a massive organisational nightmare - notwithstanding any legal liabilities present if someone does decide to claim against WBP for catching covid-19

Once the active cases in province are pretty much nil I'm sure things will get going again. Sunpeaks bike park is opening in July tentatively.

One has to think, is someone going to wipe down each chair on the lift after each use? With the numbers Whistler gets is this doable? Think only once the restrictions are loosened will WBP open.

Platform is being built.  Bike-chairs are being installed.  Trail-end berms being cut.

CWorx cancelled.

Late June start is what I'm hearing.

I’m pretty sure on even a SLOW day there are easily more then 50 people in or around the coral at any given time.

Would they really have to wipe down every time? If it was the case that you could catch this virus so easily off surfaces then surely every construction site across BC would have cases clogging up the hospitals. It really can't be the driving force of this virus.

EDIT:

Oh thanks for the update Nickel. I'll be happy to spend some dollars up there if that is the case.

Even if it opens I'm going to wait and see what kind of shit show it is.

It could either be dead cuz there's no tourists, or it could be absolutely nuts from so many locals chomping at the bit since it was so late.

I'm on the patience program especially since I'll be renting a bike so I have no super urgency to get out there.

I'd say American's make up a hugggggggggggge chunk of the line.

Until they get their shit together, which is doubtful until the North destroys the South again, I hope we keep the border closed.

So I'm going in with the bet it's gonna be quiet as fuck.
