I netted 128 this year.

Not my most, but this was definitely my favourite year so far.  Closing day was amazing.  Thanks nickel and all...

I netted not enough due to injury. Last 2 days were pretty good for me though.

I can't for the life of me find where you view your bike park stats though. I'm coming up blank?

Bike park stats were lost to us when Vail turned off the WB App.  You had to ask a lifty, or now, guest services.

On PB this morning there was a story about a 35 year old from Burnaby who died on a-line on Friday. I remember seeing the chopper overhead that day. 

The last death I heard about was the fellow who went otb on crabapple, but that was years ago. Is 2019 a tough year for our sport, or are we just hearing about these accidents more now?

RIP to the rider. Needless to say, everytime something like this happens, it shakes me to the core.

2 days for me: 1 TOTW/Khyber/MON/Kashmir/LOC and 1 half day on Garbo/Missfire etc. Big change from last few years... can't complain though, as a new dad I still got in a lot of trail riding on the shore/Squamish.

RIP to the deceased, just saw the news as well.

I think someone died on Devils Club on the tall bridge, going too fast last year.

Really? Devil's Club, the blue trail?! That blows my mind. I love that trail. In fact, I was transferring from the new wood to the old wood earlier this year and was happy with my ability to do so. The point is, that is such a simple trail and one I would never consider to be dangerous. To have an injury there is one thing, but to lose a life? Fuk me..... 

This fits into what I've been feeling the last two years. What we do is dangerous. But I love biking and it truly is a huge part of who I am. The anxiety I felt last season was tremendous and ruined more than a few good rides. But to see the carnage this season from these tragic deaths, to the mega injuries suffered by the pros, it weighs heavy on my mind. 

43 days park Whistler. 2 days Silver Star. 1 day Sun Peaks. Plus many more km's of dirt.

I had 2 crashes. 1 concussion. 4 wasp stings. Bruised ribs, and a shoulder injury that still hurts.

That said, in the end, I care less about me and more about the safety of my loved ones who I introduced to biking.

They took out the old wood last year in September if I'm not mistaken.

Ah, then it would have been late last year. As stupid as it sounds, one of the old ladders crumbled under me as I was riding it, but I was able to wheelie drop and ride it out.  

I guess this thread is coming to a close soon. The snow has settled up top and the racks are already being replaced with chairs. Another great one in the books. Looking forward to May 2020.

Can we talk about 1199 yet??

Curious if anything else new is in the cards for Creekside for 2020 as well...
