The Definitive Cheap Accommodation Thread
If you have a crew of 5 or 6 I rented a 2bdrm at Stoney Creek sunpath which ends up costing about $85 pp for 2 nights (this is during Crankworx too…there were cheaper rates earlier in the month) AND I have a BBQ, private hot tub, pool and only 5 min walk to the village. Plus it has a kitchen, washer/dryer etc .
Lots of good rates around

How about longer accomodation? I'm looking for a 2 bedroom place for about 3 months. Ideas where to start?
www.piquenewsmagazine.com Go to Classifieds, then to accom. Or something like that.
There are two sections, one for long term and one for short term. Check them both out, as the short term ones have had ads for one week, and also one season.
If you're going, you shoudln't have problems finding a place after the Ski and Snowboard Festival www.whistler2007.com , which ends on April 22 I think. That's when everyone leaves town (Aussies, etc), thinking Whistler sucks once the snow's gone. Really though, it only gets better!
I lived in staff housing at Brio, I liked it a lot got to meet new ppl and my roomates were pretty cool aside from when they decided to dry their socks and undies in the oven, but besides that it was pretty cool. Not the cleanest or nicest places but it was cheap, then I found a cheaper and cleaner place and I moved out in a heartbeat, but I amanged to surve a whole month there, so really no complains aside from the odd bear you meet going to work in the morning, but they are friendly as long as you don't piss them off. Plus STaff housing was the easiest starting point, then up garding was easier. Good luck.

Am I being unreasonable thinking I should be able to get a 2 bedroom place for ~$1500 a month? I've been dealing with ownerdirect and have found them to be pretty much useless.
That's a reasonable price for sure, especially during the spring/summer.
The pickings look slim right now, but I bet that places will start to come more avail starting May 1.

i would expect a place on alta lake for that plus some change. u can get a 2 bed place in the summer for like 1200 in emarld, and whistler cay. u can even get a small 2 bedroom in the village for around a thou for summer only.
here to ride but i'm to busy building

Any idea where to look for such a place? Is this something I need to wait untill after the Telus ski [HTML_REMOVED] board festival to see or should I be able to find summer postings already?
I work up at staff housing, and thought I should give you guys a heads-up that we're currently plotting some park pass/housing combo deals; i.e. buy yourself a Triple Play card and get save on three night's accom., or buy a season pass and set yourself up for a really cheap few weeks in housing. More details to follow as soon as we know ourselves…
Kev…go here.

Plus, staff housing can be a good, social, and cheap time if you're there for only the summer. LIke residence in university, you'll meet tonnes of people and have the time of your life. If you're over 20 though, you might not dig it, since most will be younger than you. Go to the WB site for that though.
Does anyone know when the staff housing is available?
Im flying in from Australia on may1 and a need a place to stay
Not sure when Glacier Staff will be up cause Blackcomb is staying open later and thats where most of Blackcombs employees live, but I may be wrong, Whistler closes for skiing April 22, so it may be clear enough for you to find something but its first come first serve……..
