It was mentioned to me today most of the rental fleets will be going up for sale soon. Wondering if anyone has the scoop, as I'm interested in a dh bike with modern geometry
Rental fleet sell offs
Whichever bike you want go to that shop and say you're interested in buying a rental bike. You might be able to secure one with money down. Also if you rented from that shop it might be included in the price.
Fanatyk Co might still strip the bikes to put different components on for the season. So you'd get a used frame with new parts though
Why slag free swag?
ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.
Pretty sure you don't need another bike.

TB you sound like my wife
I heard rumours a few seasons ago someone go a flatline for around a grand or so. I'd be all over that.

Thought you wanted modern geo???Rocky is about as antiquated as they get…
I would go to fanatyko and grab one of their demos. everything is brand new except fork shock and frame. best deal in town. They will run about $2500 i think if they have any left.
Yeah a new Norco or Demo 8 will set you back 2gs+ from Fanatyk Co

Talked to the guys at Fanatyco today, as I was shopping for a 275 AM bike for a buddy. They had the aluminum Range with full NEW XT group and XT wheelset and new tires for $1800 with X-Fusion Sweep front and rear. Ridiculous value. Sadly, all sold out, even though there is rental fleet still sitting there.
Inside they have a "spoken for" board, and most of the bikes were picked up a while ago and are just waiting for retirement from the fleet. They are doing 2 bikes/day right now.
Crazy cold and wet on top of Peak today. We were hiking, but TOTW would have been zero vis and a wee bit chilly!
Fanatyko has the best deal on rentals by far in the valley, then I would say Evolution with the GTs and V10s because they are a little out of the way and don't see the rental traffic…..

2-2500 with new components at Fanaytkco, not too bad… definitely a better idea than WB's Glorys which must be beat into the ground?
I only get 5 or 6 park days a year so I can't justify a DH rig, but I'd really love to have one.
Summit is selling off their L'il Shredders for about $500 off retail. So for $2500, you get a well used grom bike, and enough left over for a season's pass next year. That's a bit much, although the bikes themselves are pretty well designed.
Rented a Giant Glory (not the full DH spec one) from whistler for half a day. They were definitely beat down pretty hard. Bearings were squeaky and rear brakes were a trombone symphony.

I do not know if you are married, but this this is just a reason for the other half, no?
I do not think that there are reasons for NOT owning as many bikes as possible.

Get a GT Fury from evolution. The Fury is an awesome bike. I bought one after demoing it at crankworx. The Large is BIG and helps compensate for a lot of mistakes, especially if you are tall like me.

Hah, I am married and that's part of it. I've just gotten back into mtb this year and bought a trail bike in January, with the wife picking one up over labour day weekend. There's talk of new road bikes as well and I bought a new ski touring setup in the spring so a DH rig is going to have to wait until next fall :) First world problems and all.
Kever: any idea what they are selling the Fury's for and what spec they have?
