heli access isn't allowed anymore. People hike up both via 19/skywalk, or up the trail itself.

So that's been "replaced" with the new Alp-X trail that Blackcomb helis are doing now?

any real world feedback (aka not a spawnsored pro that was paid to say it's awesome) on the quality of those trails Alpx had built??
I was looking at some ridelogs on TF from the Alpx helidrop. Could be feasible as a DIY out-and-back mission from South Rutherford and hiking up the trail. The actual trail is rated blue and looks to be 9 km and drops from 1950 m to 650 m.

Google maps satellite view also shows a logging road up to a cutblock about halfway the trail so that could help on the way up depending on the state the road is in.

dunno, but for the same money i can use the public transportation system, incl. the postbus system with bike carriers, all around switzerland for a month and ride all the great trails accessible by mountain passes.
or i could ride down a few km of trail once.
really hard to decide…

That's cool and I love riding in the Swiss alps and using the trains and buses as shuttles but here in Canada we just don't have all that infrastructure. The upside is that we have much more wild remote terrain, the downside is that it's much harder to get to.
Also I suspect people who pay hundreds of dollars for a helidrop mostly do so for the experience of the helidrop, not for the specific trail.
Anyway, OP asked about not using a helicopter.
and yet you prohibit ebikes in alpine areas. whistler really offers a strange message here. going up by taking the heli while emitting a shit ton of co2 COOL. climbing up a mountain by ebike, BAD.
