Hi guys - first post, but long time reader of these forums. I searched, but didn't see any recent info on Whistler conditions, and how the trails are melting. I looked at the webcam and it looks like there's still a lot of snow at the bottom. :censored: For the locals, is it as bad as it looks on the webcam? Anyone think we'll still be skiing to the bottom for the May 17 opening weekend? It's been a really cold and snowy spring down here in Seattle, I'm guessing you guys have had similar luck up there…
New "Current Whistler Conditions" thread
I cant see the park open may 17th
Id guess there is 3 - 4 feet at the top of a-line
the existing thread will likely be updated when there's something worth updating…..even our early season staple trails are still buried….some keeners have been spotted shovelling out cut yer bars though…..

Is that usually what happens in big snow years? You guys dig out some of the main trails (a line I assume) and have a kind of limited opening? I'm planning on coming up opening weekend but I wonder if I should hold off on booking a room since opening day seems up in the air? Or at least make sure it's refundable
well, cut yer bars isn't a bike park trail, it's just a short loop close to the village…..I'm sure they'll get a mini-ex out soon, but I know as of last weekend at crank it up and singingpass junction there was still a metre of snow….
Thanks for all the info. Man, that's still a lot of snow! :stupid: I thought last year was bad…
Any idea how long they'll wait before potentially updating the opening date? Or is the 17th the day, come hell or high water? If there's just a few trails open, might be a good time to take the wife up and teach her to ride, if nothing good's going to be open anyway
So anyone know how to Ski or Snowboard?
I arrive @ Whistler sometime Saturday… I thought I only needed to know how to ride a bike….
It's not as bad as it looks on the webcam, but theres a lot fo snow for this time of year. Some trails are mostly clear, but the bike park ones have atleast a foot or two of snow. But I'm sure that they're gonna make it happen by the 17th. Now that Whistler Mountain is closed for the season, they can maybe start working on the trails in a coupe of weeks
Jumps in the Village are clear and are being rebuilt by the Muni as we speak.
Big changes in the big line…

yeah ryan's been working on them since last week….were lookin' good
I would say it is 3-4 weeks behind last years snow still on the bottom. Last year: loading the wizzard, and riding to the bottom was only because they moved snow to the center path. This year: lots of snow left, coverage galore to the wizzard (bottom of blacomb). This comparison is for last two years of Telus ski and snowboard festival. It was cold and clear on sunday and windy. It will take tons of warm weather and rain befor you can even see aline near the top.BUT, any thing can happen.
WTF, Over?
I'm still thinking positive, that is all I can do :)

Yeah, I go there most days after school and help build. Lots of locals showing up and getting the djs back in shape. Should be mint in a week or two after some sun!
They should hold a shovel day. Like Early May sometime. Volleys get sammiches for free, byos (bring your own shovel), git r done. Id be down.
i see they r plowing the snow from the boneyard into the village plaza:agree:
come on rainy days
