When did National become Detroit Rock City? I noticed the name change the last time I was riding in the park.
National > Detroit Rock City
I think it was this season not sure though…

Yeah, I noticed that. Did they just change the name or did they change some of the trail. I haven't ridden it since the start of July.
What is national like(Or Detroit Rock City as its now called)? Alot harder than whistler DH?
The cool people are already calling it the DRC.
I think i like the name national course more then drc actually.

Yeah, they changed the name halfway through the season…. and its significantly harder than the whistler DH, more roots and rocks (and a cool, short but fairly steep optional rockface), its kinda similar to lower joyride.

It's not "DRC" it's "the DRC."
As in: I got binned off my noodle on the DRC

That's the one with the padding on teh rock at the bottom? If it is, it's steep. I loved "the DRC", but that one rock and the long one on lower DH (not go around on that one) freaked me out.

 why not give it a go, ill never know if i dont try.
Nationals Course (DRC) is tech as hell and gnarly gnar gnar.
The first rock garden will seperate the men from the boys, it has erroded so bad the left line is gone and the drop off the ladder is gnar. Miss that and it will leave a mark fo' shizzle.
The next tech section IMO would be the horizontal log across the trail after the rockface to step up. It can be slick and the corner after it can be tech.
The off-camber shale is no easy ride after that either.
The run takes on a whole different face in the wet.
Good luck SHOREIH. Let us know how it turns out.

It's funny how different people see the same thing.
Me-
fly through rock garden, wheelie drop log (you can roll it too), go around the rock face thingy with the cushion at the bottom (the only place I saw a pillowed rock at Whistler), stay straight on loose rock/shale area, fly through roots and rocks (my favorite besides crank it up and aline).
As JS said, bring a game and watch that damn rock face drop thing.
At least there's a go around unlike the rock slop on lower DH.
