Hey All,
Well, I just got back from a 6 day stay at my favourite place in the world, Whistler. However, this this time I didn't have the best trip… On my first full day up there I am happily sessioning the dirt jumps (beside the skatepark) and I am experimenting with some new lines as I try and familiarize myself to the new (at least for me) jumps. I get one line nailed down and am quite happy. Later on, fatigue starts setting in, and I probably should have stopped, however, I do not… Next thing I know I am soaring through the air on the second largest set and my nose touches down a little early on the landing and I am ejected from the bike hurtling towards the ground. Head hits first and then I am thrashed around before I stop in a heap of hurting. After a little recovering time I get up, with a sore back and wrist. After a little trip to the hospital and a few X-rays, I learn that I know have a compressed vertabrae and am out for 6 weeks… 6 WEEKS! There goes the rest of my Whistler trip, that I have been stoked for for a while, and the rest of summer and all of September…
To top it all off I later find a crack in the headtube of my shiny red Santa Cruz Chameleon… right at the weld where the headtube connects with the downtube. Is this something you think SC warranty will cover?
Anywho, now I am stuck inside writing long rambling stories like this, to all you fine folks… I did get some pictures though from atop Whistler mountain. Sorry no bikes in these pics…
And a pic of me…
