i am curious what the longest top-to-bottom bike run (using any combination of trails) in the park is?

asked the WB resort Q[HTML_REMOVED]A, but they told me 7km, which seems way too short.

any help?

I think the Peak to Creek winter run is 7kms so doubt there is a longer bike run.

You've gotta remember Peak to Creek is basically just a fall line. Kyber Pass -[HTML_REMOVED] Babylon -[HTML_REMOVED] Tunnel Vision ends up at around 10 km with over 1100 metres vertical.

Are you talking a trail in Whistler Bike Park or a trail on Whistler or Blackcomb mountain? As the crow flies?

I heard they are to extend Blue/Black Velvet to CIU next year making it the longest on the mountain. Any truth to this?

That would be so awesome if true. Black Velvet and CIU are my favourite trails so joining them with even more flowy jump sections would be incredible.

the blue/black velvet to CIU was always the plan, maybe next year it will be done, but I don't see that happening til 2013, and the entire trail will be renamed Crank it Up….

haha it's only really the first bit of crank it up that's littered with braking bumps, after the section near the jump/ladder drop park it's not really that bad. Until you get to that bit after 2 back-to-back berms and it opens up to a faster section, the braking bumps before that jump fucking kill my hands.

Braking bumps aren't nearly as bad if you don't brake on top of them. Ride smarter and brake earlier or later or choose a different line to avoid them and your hands will be fine
