It's been years since I've spent any time there. Do the dickheads still wear Ed Hardy and Abercrombie and Felch or whatever it's called? Or have they moved on to a more classy look like Burberry and Stone Island?

Walking in the village 5 abreast, looking for trouble. They do not take part in any outdoor activities the area is known for.

Not that much different to any other big city, I guess - with the difference that these douche bags have to drive all the way up to Whistler, which I find rather weird.

Whistler has become a place to be seen for some. It's a vanity thing for some.

Been going on for years.

When I lived up there 2004-5 on the May long weekend some douche gangster shot a round at the door at Tommy's because the bouncers wouldn't let he and his gangster friends in. Apparently flashed a gun so the bouncers brought everyone in and locked the door. Everyone knew to avoid the village that weekend, word was it was going to be bad, it was, what a shit show.

Also the bar owners got together and had a meeting about who to let in and who to keep out of the bars that summer. I know this because one of my roommates was bar manager at Garfs.

In my experience of Whistler it seems to have a rep and a place to party instead of ski. Was in LA last summer and met these guys with stacks of cash work for Disney who go to Whistler every year for 2 weeks. I said why not go somewhere where there is less crowds or go cat/helii skiing for the money they were throwing down?

Theses guys said they could care less about the skiing, it was about the nightlife and the party.

Whistler is basically Las Vegas to some people. Same brand of douchebag behaviour.

Even back when I lived there we only went out on weekends if we wanted to pull a tourist chick. Too many out of towners getting way too lit ad being willing to fuck shit up for entertainment. Weekends were for house parties and massive rides. Well okay, to be honest every day was for house parties and massive rides but no bars on the weekends during peak season!

To reiterate, you’ll only see them if you’re into clubbing and walking the “core” around late at night.

I’m not into clubbing so I may be completely ignorant on this, but I suspect it’s the same everywhere you go.

There are good pubs for apres, decent restaurants for food and lots of hot tubs to chill with your friends.

this i can't understand, it's only open till 2am!? that's usually the time to call the taxi for the club around here (if you even bother to go out in the night anyways, clubs are open 24h over the weekend)

I'm just a weekend warrior but I second ReductiMat, you don't have to interact with these losers unless you work at a nightclub or go to a nightclub. You may see them wandering around the village during the day or evening but they are easy to ignore. Also I think there are less of the younger ones that cause the most trouble since the town has brought in whatever festival happens on May long (and jacked up hotel costs). Just go to the pubs, ride your bike and skis.

You won't find them early morning. These are late night people. Ran into a bunch of them one year at the Listel. They were checking out & were extremely rude to all around them.
