oh yeah! hit it up a few times both sat and sun extended play, really fun!
I agree, awesome trail. Watch out though, some of the corners in the lower bit are really slippery. But apart from that, the trail is a work of art!

That step down about half way down, theres a big soft spot, totaly saw some guy eat it in there. I was surprised I didnt crash when I hit it blind the first time. Absolutely epic trail, it should be super fast in a week or two when it dries out.
I think that was one of the best weekends of riding i've ever had.
It shouldn't take too long to dry out. I noticed an improvement from yesterday to today. Cool trail!
Does Black Velvet have any hard unavoidable bits (rock drops/rollers and so on) or is it all fairly doable for someone who mainly sticks to the blues and the odd single black?

nope, its realy just a blue run. i think it only got called black velvet (the part that was built last year) because theres only black runs after it. my guess is that its going to get renamed blue velvet(and switched back to a blue run), now that it exits back on to expressway.
but that is just a guess
Good to go… you can roll through and then pick the stuff that you want to hit. It's a slight step up from Blue Velvet (hence the name choice, I assume.)
haha! we posted at the same time. Maybe atb is right but I still think it's a slight step up from BV - it has some slight hips into berms rather than all straight on jumps.
Rode Black Velvet today and that is going to be one on the best trails on the entire mountain once it packs down a bit. Amazing, amazing, trail.
It's totally rideable by anyone with reasonable skill. Give 'er. Everything is rideroundable (it's a word).
Awesome, I'll give it a go tomorrow then :)
