it really isn't that bad, they added dirt on top so it isn't over rocks, and they back up dirt higher on the tranny over the wooden bit….

I rode whistler last week I was surprised to see the size of the jumps in Crabapple Hits, looks like a frickin motocross track.

I just got back to Mexico today and I can't wait to come back to Whistler :stupid:

I Don't think they are that big .Sure you are in the air for like 2 seconds .They could of streched them out a bit more still easy to overshoot.
I think they should put an Expert only sign at the begining.
A couple of bad cases and It will be Whistler Medical center time.
I wish there were 20 or 30 of these hits that carried down the Ski runs.

Crabapple- can honestly say i was turtle heading and very afraid, speed check first hit,let er go for the second, third send it no brake landing is huge, fourth hit if there is a headwind no brake check,if there is no headwind brake check or risk a flat landing, fifth jump hit it large boys. Very nice when you get them, sucks when you just miss em. (hard on the body) Thanks trail crew for that much needed change. Now can you hook Garbo up with some of that? ( make ten of them, and call it Garbo Super Senders)

Hey locals, how is the drainage on rainy days? I plan to go tomorrow and just wanted to know if I'll hate it.

And how much traffic is there when it rains? Is it heaven with no people or still some line ups?

Thanks.

Single tracks get real in the rain , many spots are armored all through out the lower mt. Excavated jump trails have pretty good drainage. Dirt is pretty tacky right now. Garbo is pretty savage and it is crankworx now so crowds may become any issue. Trails don't get as over run as they once did but the lift lines may. You may be good to go.

did a lap on blue velvet then freight train, not nearly that bad, but still pretty wet in places….it was also super foggy, to the point of pretty limited visibility on the upper mountain. Pretty isolated though. lower mountain is railing hard, great traction, although afternoon delight was definitely slippery and caught me out a couple of times.

I don't know what you guys are talking about…I rode garbo (what was open outside of the race course) on monday and it was absolute garbage. I honestly can't believe whistler would even bother opening it. It's super muddy, barely any trail work has been done (jump lips and berms are in terrible shape) and it wasn't fun to ride at all. And I didn't hear a single positive thing said by the racers practicing for the garbo DH…and they were all covered in mud head to toe. lots of tearaways to clean up after the race I bet…

But I guess that's just another opinion…I'm sure somebody would have fun on it!
