Also it turns out losing my goggles was a small blessing because I bought some Smith MX on sale which ended costing about £14 after exchange rates and discounts, and they fit so much better

I hate the fast loose fire roads like that bit and expressway. I always panic when it gets looser and faster which then makes me start to lose control and it gets a bit sketchy haha. And I've had 2 pinch flats down expressway from landing on small rocks after those little drainage ditch "gaps". The bastards shakes fist
