This is good news for the bike park.

It will be interesting to see whether the public access trails that currently end at Creekside get absorbed into the bike park's tenure. Anyone know the plans?

after we did a ride off khyber, we talked to a bike park patrol and he said the new trail was even funded or partially funded by whistler. So im thinking that things leading to dustys will all be absorbed.

With this news…… EWS route speculations???????

It should also give Whistler Creekside businesses and accommodations a substantial shot in the arm outside of the ski season, especially if they are able to come up with creative ideas to entice dayhikers up there as well (it is described by WB as a "dead end for those activities").

I wonder how this will affect the nudist festival: http://www.piquenewsmagazine.com/whistler/nudist-festival-aims-to-expose-creekside/Content?oid=2643525

As for the EWS course, there's a lot of work going into that area of the mountain, pretty sure that much/most/all of it is related to getting the race course up to snuff. Definitely a good time to ride it before the hordes arrive.

I spent Eight years in Creekside for the summer and now they open the Gondy? I never minded the ride to the village, but, that would make it so easy! Creekside part of the mountain is going to be great. Shoulder rehab, stat!

So… anyone report how it went and how line-ups were versus the village? What is Dusty's DH? Mostly a raked and graded road or are there single track/machine built connectors? Overall difficulty? Assessing it for the girl.

No idea on the lines as I only rode out on it at like 7pm, but Dusty's DH is like super fantastic but a bit steeper and with some built corners, and a little bit of fire road at the beginning. Single black. Really fun.

lines were hefty when I rolled in at 4:30, Dusty's was going off…..the new trail is pretty fun, but definitely raw and fresh, a few of the corners were tricky and blown out, but overall pretty fun!
