Does anyone have any particular recommendations for renting a bike for the day for the Whistler bike park? I rented one from the Blackcomb rental fleet, and it was complete garbage. I could try other rental shops up there like Summit and Fanatyk but was wondering if there were any others worth trying out. Maybe renting one in Squamish might be cheaper?
Best place to rent bike for Whistler
Endless Biking in North Van if you can swing it.
Evolution has pimp build V10's that are maintained quite well, but they are also expensive. I've had mixed quality with friends renting from FanatykCo over the years, sometimes great sometimes beat with bald tires. I'd think Summit would be a good bet with the Fury's being new this year. Coastal Culture is another option.
Costal is pricey, Summit is good, and be sure to do a once-over on the bike before accepting so that you aren't feeling pushed into bald tires or padless brakes. Evolution is awesome, but $$ and they will take you for more cash if you break something and don't buy their insurance...
If you have the time and flexibility - Endless is the win.
Thanks for the reply.
I looked on Endless Biking website, and it doesn't seem like they have any downhill park bikes for rent. Would definitely be a great option though since it's on my way up and back from Whistler anyways.
Give them a quick call, I know they had some Maidens they were renting earlier in the summer - they may have purged their stock though.
Problem with Endless is their hours, impossible to rent a bike and return same day, unless you don't mind leaving the park after a couple hours. When I asked about returning when they open on the second day they said you would be charged two days for that... was a few years back so maybe it's changed.
