50k a year for three years and more possible going forward
"It works out to roughly $166 per kilometre dedicated to some of Whistlers most popular tourist draws.
The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) has entered into a Fee for Service Agreement with one of the communitys largest sports clubs the Whistler Off Road Cycling Association (WORCA). The three-year deal hands $50,000 to the organization per year to maintain and upgrade more than 300 kilometres of biking and hiking trails.
Its a necessary step, WORCAs director of trails Nina Cairns said. Up until now the heavy lifting was done through donated volunteer hours and funding secured annually through the RMOWs Community Enhancement Program. Last year the association received $21,500 for trail maintenance, while the price tag attached to covering WORCAs bike camp and trail work came to $166,000."

In the summer months Whistler opens its doors to around 1.2 Million visitors.
During that time Lost Lake and the Whistler trail network have traditionally seen around
30,000 mountain bikers out on the trails, and this amount continues to grow.
This figure accounts for a whopping 40% of the guests visiting the resort. "
FYI the 30k number was from rough WORCA counts and also for the 2006 EIS. I have no doubt this number is now much higher
"WORCA has a dedicated team of Trail builders over the summer months. In 2015 the
crew consisted of 1 full-time project leader, 2 full-time builders, 3 full-time labourers
and 2 part-time labourers. "
and no doubt there's countless volunteers too. All trailwork appreciated.
Tip of the hat to WORCA, Nina, Todd et al
