Vanier Park Dirt Jumps - Need dirt

What do you think is the best way to get dirt delivered by the City of Vancouver to Vanier Park Dirt Jumps/Pump track? City of Vancouver built it in 2010.

I just want someone to drop off a truck load of dirt so I can slap it around the mini pump track where it is getting a bit eroded. Someone who knows what they are doing can fix the massive jumps that I would probably kill myself on.

I submitted an online "Service Request" at vancouver.ca but there's got to be a better way.

Thanks.

311, let 'em know maintenance is needed

better yet, pretend you are a worried parent concerned about children's safety

mmmm, I don't suggest that route, it could lead to a decommissioning! instead, if you want CoV to jump to it, say that the Vanier Park BIKE LANE needs a load of dirt. Gregor himself will drive the truck.

Earth ramps was probably a contractor for the city, for a contract that finished in 2010. I could let 'em know that their hard work isn't being maintained and they can suggest something to their contact at the City.

lol @ ceebee. Truth. Best answer. Seriously, though the 'safety/liability' card would be a dangerous one to play.

I submitted the online form (which is the online equivalent of 311 I guess).

I'll ask the guys at Ride On. I seem to remember that one of those dudes had some involvement way back.

Can you ask Luke Fulgham where he built this line in Burnaby while you're at it?

Last year Luke gave me the impression that the city had a few bucks for earth ramps to push dirt around . I am sure there will be an opportunity to do so again.

Furthermore it would help if there was a volunteer group or organization that was dedicated to the care and maintenance of this facility. In my experience I have found that cities much prefer dealing with an organization of sorts rather than a bunch of random dudes. They also tend to be a lot more forthcoming with resources when there is a return on their investment (ie volunteer labour and community development)

Just my 2 cents
