Please use this thread (and PB reports) to let me know which blowdowns on Cypress need to be cleared.

Just got this and I'm keen to use it!

Hey Mods can we get a Cypress 2017 trail conditions thread?

There's nothing better than an Orangina after cheating death with Digger.

Ddean, Nice new E gas axe.
There are 2 trees across Wutang, after new road crossing.
There nothing a swedesaw wouldn't cut but that saw should do the trick.

Perfect Ivan. Ill try to get those cleared up this wknd. Thx

That battery powered chainsaw is ripping through some pretty big pieces of firewood with ease. That thing demolishes wood!

The last time I rode 5th horseman there were quite a few downed trees that looked like they have been around for a while, near the start of the trail.

5th had blow down in the fall. It's clear now, or at least was clear on Sunday.

How is the saw working out? A quick review?

The EGO chainsaw has been awesome. Ive used it mostly for firewood at home, and I live in Caulfeild where a gas saw would reasonably bother my neighbours. I believe that it rips though wood as if it were gas, but is very quiet.

It's light. I have the EGO mower, leaf blower, weed wacker and now the saw. They're all excellent but the saw made particular sense given the noise from a gas saw, that I would be using it at home and that I have a bunch of batteries for it already. Battery life would be fine for blow down clean up but not enough to carve up a reasonable tree on one battery.

I carried it and a shovel up Cypress hunting for blow down one day but the report listed the wrong trail, so it was all for not (and someone else got the blowdown from a properly listed trail report). It was light enough to carry up tho!
