I made a mistake.

The MS250 is 13.88 lbs with a 16" bar and full tank of gas and oil. I love this saw.

If you already have a big saw, I'd get the MS192. It's small, light and a lot cheaper than the MS200

The 260 pro is a fabulous saw. The pro series stuff is built to take a beating and a serious beating they will take. Drop one from 20 feet up a tree, no worries. Use it 365 days a year with nothing more than chain oil and gas and the odd filter cleaning, no worries. Leave it outside in the pouring rain/slush while you do other stuff, no worries. Having worked with one daily for almost a year and not a single issue I would recommend it to anyone that wants a saw to last a lifetime of personal use.

No, just over two years ago I got shit canned from a real world job for skiing too much (damn that was an amazing Nov, Dec 07) and needed work so I went to work as a groundsman for a climber here in North Van. All day everyday running a ms260 doing all the ground cutting. We had three ms260's in the fleet, two of them got 95% of the use. One for climbing (never to be used on the ground) and mine for ground work. These saws take a beating, it would take a decade of part time trail work to get as much saw time as a daily use pro saw gets in 6 months.

I will throw my vote in for the 026. It is my main saw and I love how well its held up to every day use on the job, and in very tough conditions.

tom, if you like you're welcome to come try out my 192 some day. then compare it against groundkeeper's 200 and see what you like the best.

better yet, let's all meet and try out the different saws. so far we've got:

synchro: ms192T
dean w: ms250
groundskeeper [HTML_REMOVED] knight-rider: ms200
nechako: ms192
silk: ms260 (is that the pro tho?)

anybody else want to join in?

ps - i'd advise against beers. last thing we need is a bunch of drunk and chainsaw happy fools running loose in the forest.

I've got an MS230 with an 18" bar that sits collecting dust Tom, you're welcome to test drive it. Let me know if you're ever in the area.

but if you're going to be trying out various saws, i can throw in a MS361 as well, if you wanna try something with more serious power:grinno:

I've got the MS250 as well, so I'll sub for Dean if he can't make it.
