Morgman, Bryce, thank you for the constructive comments.

Agree that a different approach by myself could have been made, i could have been softer and offering to help, noted for future threads.

My thought process was more along the lines that hey this builder has abandoned this trail for a while now?! WTF

Rereading my original post i don't think I was abusive, possibly a poorly chosen word was used and I intentionally did not call out the specific builders by name, so as to not make it personal.

However I stand by my comment, I feel the cutting through the trail and leaving it is poor, and possibly a better line choice could have been chosen that would have better water shedding. Possibly not.

The intention of the thread was to raise awareness of the state of the trail, its builders approach, its impact on CB and its positive potential if it was finished.

To say it okay to blaze a connector through where ever one wishes and leave it to others to complete is not acceptable. The standard that all the other builders seem to use of hiding the entrance and exit until complete seems like a much better approach.

I don't mind the attacks, bringing attention to the trail will hopefully get some results…

It is so nice outside that trailfairy almost can't be bothered to be the same asshole that you are - almost.

some truths

- noone gives two shits about the opinion of a no-name anonymous TRDouche

- fairies who punch in trails for dry weather riding don't really give much of a crap about people who ride in the wet. It's Somebody Else's problem! The trail's complete for dry riding. You want to ride in teh wet - go for it internet hero

People who are familiar with the North Shore's builder culture will know Lee and Sharon's build style. Cut the line, let it get haggard, return at convenience to fix problem spots. Take Greenland for example, as it was cut a couple years earlier. Cut, blown, patched, still not perfect, but a line people enjoy incorporating into loops.

Wow Morgan, is this the kind of misinformation you like to spread around? Thought you had more integrity then that. Oh well, guess I shouldn't be surprised.

We have talked to the Ripper organization and while not responsible for building the trail, they were responsible for making it public.

We'll be working on it… at our convenience.

This pretty much sums it up.

"somebody else's problem" is not an accetable approach to trail building in a popular area that sees year-round traffic.

I got this in a PM and thought my response to this statement would be more useful in public:

The builder says its a dry weather trail.Maybe we should treat it as such.

By your logic though, PM friend, what do we do about CBC then?

Not all trails are meant to be ridden in all conditions….or is that rule out of vogue now?

Remember the winter when the new Executioner re-routes were a big long mud pit and riders were asked to stay away until the builders had time to fix it up? How come there was no outrage on here about that?

Personally I see nothing wrong with letting a trail get a little punched out before going back in to fix up the low/soft spots that riders have uncovered. More efficient that just golding up the entire trail if you have limited resources. Of course a thread on NSMB like this one may cause you to lose motivation to work on it further.

Also I see a bit of a double standard here when it is a known fact that two or more NSMBA builders have put in all sorts of new lines on Seymour without any kind of approval. If they can do it, why can't others?

And at the end of the day the trail is a popular addition to the trail network … if it really sucked people would not be using it.

I think to the small group of people (unfortunately I feel that group is growing)who like to think of themselves as "entitled" yeah they feel that rule is either out of vogue or just doesn't apply to them.

Unfortunately this is not new and I don't know that it is a small group. They certainly do feel entitled though!

Going back about 5 years, I know of 6 trails around Vancouver where the builders blocked the trail off in the winter to try and prolong the life of the trail before it needed massive ground work.

In each case signs were posted stating that this was only a winter closure and to please come back in the Spring when the trail could handle the traffic. In every case some entitled riders re-opened the trail and continued to ride it in the winter.

One builder is so pissed off he may go in with a chainsaw and cut out all the bridges and fall trees along the length of the trail.

Clearly these people have no concept that hundreds and hundreds of hours go in to building a trail and that when they show such disrespect to builders it can feel as if they are basically taking a shit on you and your work.

Again, familiarize yourself with the situation before throwing stones. Parks (Not BC Parks jurisdiction if that's what you mean) is not the responsible entity and the trail will see the light of day again.

Do not mess with the Morgman or you'll awake the ginger ninja.

Seriously - what are you so angry about? If you'd like to make a contribution that's great - but if you are just here because you are angry at the world and you can vent anonymously we're not so interested in having you around.

Clean it up or you'll have your privileges curtailed.

so 20 people - 5 nicknames each. all of them posting pornlinks to each other. that about sums nsmb does it… does eveyone get a poser scooter? an annoying dog? stand up paddle board? a front page video?

off to log back in as sleepr and post some titties. talk to you when you log back in as synbcro "morgman".
