i rode massage therapy for the first time in years yesterday and despite a crash i had a great time; that trail has a lot of great memories on it. the skinny section is toast and a few other things are broken (including a semi essential bridge at the re-route near the top) but much of the woodwork is intact and stable, the big problem though is a lot of it is covered in slime and so in wet conditions it's very treacherous. the trail is actually quite "loamy" - or should we be saying "duffy" - as it has seen very much traffic in quite a few years.
however there are a few sections of repaired/replaced woodwork that look to be no more than 2-3 seasons old. one has to be careful though as these "new" sections lead into greasy ones which resulted in a nice get-off and a rather large muscular hematoma - can't wait to see the bruise.
further down there's some more newer work on manhandler and mistress. in all it's still a good ride, but with any dampness you're bypassing most of the stunts. with a good trail crew, the right tools and a weekend or two of work this line could be riding quite nicely again. i have some of the tools and could possibly find the time if others are interested.
We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.
